Apparently it only applies if one or both feet are planted on the ground. Geno was fully in the air at contact.

If Geno isn't the answer anyways, just start Howell the rest of the year and see what happens. And if he doesn't show signs of improvement we need to start over at QB. Or we can chance limping into the playoffs with Geno, get wrecked, and do the same shit again next year.

For Geno he needs a clean pocket but even then he has no legit internal clock that tells him when to get rid of the ball.

OTOH it I should be undisputed he has a great arm and he can be elite occasionally, and throws a great long ball but he is a head case in the redzone. I haven’t checked but he has to have one of the worst redzone turnover rates in the NFL which to me are a symptom of him being freaked out, spazzed out, by the situation. I truly believe he could be a great QB but he has trouble at times raising his game to become a top level QB. The trouble is in his head and not with his physical ability.

The upcoming game against Minnie will undoubtedly be a tough game. They are better team than the Packers with a ferocious pass rush. Don’t know yet if Geno reverts to form and he either will hide behind his ‘injury‘ and he won’t show up to be revealed again or if he will show up and be the elite QB we see occasionally. Truly he didn’t play well tonight but then again neither did the rest of the team with a few rare exceptions. I don’t know how legitimately injured he is but he once again revealed himself again tonight, Geno the head case.

For him I genuinely hope this isn’t a serious injury but I do know he could be special if he could get his head straight. Just don’t know if that will ever happen to allow his real talent to be fully revealed he has been doing this for a long time. Not sure the team will stick with him long enough for that to happen.

By nature I prefer to be a positive person but truly there is something missing with this player.and it isn’t his physical skill. I really would love to be proved wrong as heck. His incredible inconsistency is hard to watch without comment.

Yeah he really threw a fit over that ankle tickle, and I couldn’t figure out how that hit injured him, maybe he jammed his knee when he jumped? I don’t know if elite is an appropriate description of him. You can’t only be an elite in specific scenarios under perfect conditions. He cannot control his emotions and melts down in the worst times. I feel like he has more physical talent than Russ but under pressure Russ would step up and geno just stands there. Sometimes I feel like Geno won’t move in the pocket because he doesn’t think he should have to….

Geno could start at his own 1 yard line and put on a masterclass and drive 80 yards without an issue. It's those remaing 10 yards or so, especially if playing from behind, that the hero ball comes out and he feels the need to force throws that unfortunately in more instances than not result in a turnover.

Geno doesn’t move. He doesn’t read what’s coming. He just stands there and waits. All great QBs know when to move. Even Peyton manning would move. Matthew stafford moves all over. Geno just stands there like he is entitled to his space….

It’s not BS man Geno slammed his helmet down in frustration over not getting a flag. He was immediately looking to blame someone else. Geno is not tuff. You don’t think coaches say to the public anything to shield their guys….. ok….

Steve was very mobile, but he had the luxury of playing behind an OL with multiple all-pros ( Harris Barton, Jesse Sapolu, Steve Wallace) coached by a legendary OL coach Bobb McKittrick. Until those linemen aged and Steve was under constant pressure.

And? Steve started to hear footsteps and made pre-matured decisions. That's what CONSTANT pressure could do to a QB. I was a 9ers fan then, and I remembered.

Man I can’t agree more. I watched the replay of the injury over and over, geno was yelling for a flag before he even reached for his leg. I am convinced he was so mad at getting hit in a way he thought wasn’t fair that he injured his brain. They said he was trying to come back…. Ok slamming his helmet, stomping around, Pointing fingers, just like the giants game. He is a spoiled child. Remember Pete on the sidelines grabbing him and zen master calming him down… Geno is not a leader I don’t care about his arm or accuracy in ideal situations. When he thinks something wasn’t fair he is out of the game mentally.

Obviously we don’t have another option for qb, but it is beyond time to find one. Trade up in the draft and get someone worth developing, one more year of Geno for the QBOTF to watch what not to do and then he’s gotta go… unless ideally someone can take Geno’s spot in the competition

Nope. Geno has no intention of moving around. He is fully aware of what his o-line is and still thinks he can stand there like it’s 1984. He needs to be moving immediately. If the play is not designed for an immediate pass he should be ready to move. He doesn’t even try to move unless it’s forward through a parted red sea
