No style points in the NFL. You either win or your don't. The obsession with who a team played is a little bit dramatic, to me at least.
So you're telling me a win vs. the Panthers is the same in your eyes as a win vs. the Chiefs??No style points in the NFL. You either win or your don't. The obsession with who a team played is a little bit dramatic, to me at least.
100% agree…if we go with the logic of this team lost to this team and beat this team blah blah blah, every Super Bowl team should be undefeated right?I didn't say that at all. I'm saying you're spending a lot of time downplaying a 3-0 record. To each his/her own.
I just don't apologize for wins, ever.
Perfect example: Hawks beat the Pats on the road - "It's just the Pats, they suck"
Niners beat the Pats at home - "Niners are back!!!"
A 3-0 record when you facing teams like Kansas City, Baltimore and San Francisco are more impressive to me than wins against the Panthers, Bears and Broncos.I didn't say that at all. I'm saying you're spending a lot of time downplaying a 3-0 record. To each his/her own.

So by your logic SOS means nothing? Not buying it.100% agree…if we go with the logic of this team lost to this team and beat this team blah blah blah, every Super Bowl team should be undefeated right?
There’s always inferior teams that win some games against superior teams, it’s the NFL, this happens every week.
You can say that about us, too. Neither the Broncos, Pats, nor Fins are part of anyone's Murderer's Row.Except when you look at who they played, their start wasn't all that impressive. The only quality win over the first 3 games was the Phins on the road with Tua. The other 2 games were at home against the Cardinals and the Jags and neither of those teams are any good.
Yes but you were about to anoint the Bills as AFC champs until yesterday. I'm saying in light of their schedule it's not that surprising they lost. They looked better than they were because of the level of competition. You can say that about us, too. Neither the Broncos, Pats, nor Fins are part of anyone's Murderer's Row.
They don't, but River Dog said he was thinking they were the team to beat in the AFC and I said I wasn't surprised. They've only played one good team until yesterday. Wins are wins, I understand that but that is not what we were talking about. So basically, there's no way the Hawks are making a BCS bowl this year. Dang it.
I keep forgetting that wins have to look a certain way. And they somehow don't matter if it's against an inferior opponent.
I wasn't just looking at the Bills first three games of this season. The Bills have been one of the top teams in the AFC for several years and their QB is in his prime, so when they ran off 3 straight wins to start the season, I got the feeling that this could be their year. And it still might be. All teams have an off game, and yesterday could have been an anomaly. In addition, wasn't just the fact that they lost which surprised me. It was the way they lost. They got their asses kicked.Yes but you were about to anoint the Bills as AFC champs until yesterday. I'm saying in light of their schedule it's not that surprising they lost. Strength of schedule changes weekly…it’s a 17 game season. You don’t have to “buy it”, its factsSo by your logic SOS means nothing? Not buying it.
The Ravens have played better competition than the Bills and although they did stumble against the Raiders there's no shame in losing to the Chiefs on the road or pulling our a tight win against the Cowboys in Dallas.I wasn't just looking at the Bills first three games of this season. Plus, the Ravens hadn't looked all that great. They were 1-2 coming into the game, had a bad loss at home against a team in the Raiders that aren't expected to compete, and barely beat the Cowboys last week, giving up 3 TDs in the 4th quarter. They could have very easily been 0-3.
I don't think my assumption about the Bills was unrealistic, and I'm a bit surprised that you'd challenge it by making it sound like I was simply looking at their record like I was some novice fan.
That's not necessarily true. It can change and it can also stay the same.Strength of schedule changes weekly…it’s a 17 game season. You don’t have to “buy it”, its facts
THIS ^^^^
Whatever happened to just enjoying wins? Stacking them up before the really tough part of the schedule rolls in.
Shoot, they are 3-0. If they ONLY go .500 the rest of the way, they are 10-7 team. And likely in the playoffs.
All while playing with a Swiss Cheese O Line and a brand-new coaching staff. Just sayin.
