I was watching GMFB today and noticed that every single pundit had us making the playoffs. I think the NFL is beginning to notice us.

Doesn't matter of course, all about proving it.

I'm hopeful that the Rams D has regressed this year.

I also think the 49ers will not have as trouble free of a season this year. Probably in part injuries, and the holdouts, may bite them in the ass.

This really could be our year to challenge, not just for a wildcard, but for the division.

I'm thinking it depends on the media outlet. I listened to a lot of Fox Sports Radio over the holiday weekend while working outside, and none of the hosts were predicting the 'Hawks have any chance at the playoffs (which I think is understandable from a non-homer's perspective, given the team's recent middlingness and offseason coaching overhaul). In fact, it seemed pretty universal that Santa Clara will float to the top of the division with everyone else foundering in the reeds, although some felt L.A. might also have a decent record. Again, I think this is fair given the results of the past couple of seasons.

What? The Niners not in the picture?
Yeah, in my mind, the Niners are the king of the division until they aren't. They still have a solid team (I see where Trent Williams ended his holdout) and have to be considered the favorites to win the division if not the conference.

We are under the radar as most of the talking heads and publications aren't predicting us to go very far. But that's fine with me. If I'm Mac, I'd much rather coach a team that was playing from that position rather than having a bunch of sports geeks blowing smoke up their tails telling them how great they are.

Exactly. They need to prove they are worthy of playoffs not be told by talking heads that they are worthy of playoffs.

Not under the radar as much as not be talked about as a threat to really contend at this point, are a team of interest to watch. Mediots want to see if we implode post Pete, or Impress with Mac and the justify their Coach of the year predictions.
