The Niners will probably reach a point (soon) where they just want to get what they can so there's some return out of the deal. Lance is probably not going to get many opportunities to increase his value.

I think sometimes he is contrarian for the annoyance factor to increase people watching what he says. He has had a lot of contrarian opinions that were flat out wrong. But a lot of things he is right on as well.
