Dude has learned the hardest way one possibly can short of one's own death (which is too late) the potential consequences of foolish, reckless behavior.

The former Georgia star defensive lineman and top NFL draft prospect was sentenced to 12 months of probation, a $1,000 fine and 80 hours of community service and will attend a state-approved defensive driving course.

By resolving the matter, Stephens said, the state is forever barred from bringing additional charges against Carter."

This may be true, but I’ll bet he still goes top-10. People know a lot less than they think they know. His coach and his teammates know him a lot better than any of us. Personally, if I got drunk and got into a drag race with a woman who was .197 intoxicated and two people died, I would be suffering the effects of depression and guilt right now, and need to work through that before I’d be in any mental or physical condition to play football.

I don't see the legal decision affecting Carter's draft status. There's still the unanswered question as to why Carter would want to leave the scene of a horrific accident when he had two friends buried in the wreckage within minutes after it happened and before emergency personnel arrived. To me, that's the most disturbing part of the incident.

That's false information. It's reported he ran to the scene while his passenger called 911. He left after he was released then came back when they wanted more info.

It must not have been before authorities arrived, because his lawyer said today he did not leave the scene until being told he could do so. He also ran toward the wreckage when the car crashed, as opposed to what was insinuated before.

Police never tested him. They should have. She was .197 which is more than double the legal limit. I think they were all drinking until 2 a.m. but can’t prove it. We don’t know what he saw or didn’t see, but should have stayed there to talk to the police if he saw the other car crash. That wasn’t explained well in the article I read.

His running to the wreckage is what he said and has not been confirmed, and judging by how many times he changed his story, his account isn't real credible.

But in any event, he left very soon, within minutes, after the crash occured, and has never explained why he left so quickly. IMO that question, until he answers it, will continue to create doubt in team's minds about his character. That's why I feel that the legal resolution of the incident will have little impact on his draft slotting.

Stephens’ statement said Carter’s actions did not cause the accident and that he would have faced more serious charges if the investigation had determined otherwise. The statement also said Carter remained on the scene of the accident and returned even after being told he could leave to answer additional questions.

Reed was no slouch, a second round pick isn't anything to scoff at. But Carter is a 5 star recruit with much better quickness, hands and moves. Teams gameplanned around him. It's another "stats dont tell the whole story" kind of player. He's definitely a run stopper and fills gaps and can chase down a QB.

Carter had an MCL injury in 2022.

He's solidly over 300. Looks like a typical lineman to me. Probably better shape than a lot. Hard to be really cut with that kind of mass.

In the 80's, WWE had a big event with a bunch of NFL players participating with the regular wrestlers. Steroid use aside, the wrestlers made all of the NFL lineman look really, uh, fat and sloppy.
