If John feels an elite QB prospect is there I would run to the podium to select him. You never get the chance to draft one so when you do you do it. Geno has been an awesome surprise but at this point I'm still drafting if I think I have the next Mahomes, Allen, Young Russ etc there becaue those guys are too valuable.

Jalen Carter please and thank you. More than anything else this defense needs a DT that can disrupt an O-Line. Watching our team give up big run after big run because we have no disrupter in the middle to keep LBs clean is disheartening. The fact that he can get after the QB like Sapp is the icing on the cake. As I have watched tape I noticed that his fellow DT Nazir Stackhouse is pretty damn good and helps eat blockers. He is only a junior, so he may not declare but I would not hesitate to spend a fouth rounder on him if he does. They compliment each other very well.

If Will Anderson or Jalen Carter are available when we pick? Then pull a hamstring to the podium.

But damn man am I intrigued with Anthony Richardson. I know we don't want that high of a pick sitting behind Geno for a year, or two but dude's electric.

Or fleece another team that wants to trade away their entire draft or two drafts to trade up to get Richardson.

Jalen Carter.

An first early QB does not help Seattle, honestly.

Can we say Geno has been the problem with Seattle’s losses?

No, Geno, has played excellent and has allowed Seattle to stay in games and win games.

Carroll’s system and this year has proven, you don’t need a QB to win games by himself. You need a functional QB that will not lose games for you.

Seattle has lost games this year cause of the no identity on defense.

Jalen Carter is the talent Seattle needs to infuse this defensive line so Seattle can be great again.

Anderson and Carter are consensus No. 1 overall picks in a lot of drafts. Would be beyond thrilled to land either.

I've been talking about getting a QB with our first pick most of the season, but Geno is making me more OK by the week if we don't. Still not sure I want to give him a big contract in the offseason. I'm kinda tempted to franchise him and draft a QB.

Regardless, we have lots of options, thanks to the Broncos, who are helping us so much, I hope they dig out of this hole once we stop benefitting from their suckiness. #letsride

I cant believe Im saying stay with Geno but, yes I am. We need a pass rusher, an upgrade at LB and a some serious help on the run defense.

While I mostly agree, Richardson might be the style of QB that John and Pete covet. He is Mahomes/Lamar Jackson-esque in his electric style and charisma.

So while Geno's playing well, he is 33? and you never want to pass up the opportunity to get a franchise QB for the next decade.

But again, I have no idea what John and Pete think of Richardson.

There are 22 positions on a football team. I say they grab a QB with their first pick if…QB is the number one need on this team. As it stands now, it isn’t. QB is way down the list of needs for this team, as of now.
If they let Geno walk then the need becomes much greater. I’ve followed the draft closely for years, decades actually. I’ve often heard the phrase, “don’t draft for need, draft best available players “.
As the team stands now with Geno, drafting a QB in the first round would be a huge reach over many other needs. Prior to 2012, I remember Pete and John talking about building the team and then letting the QB position work itself out. With what we have, as of now, QB is way down the list of needs and desires.

True dat, however Caleb Williams isn't available this year, and by the time he is, we will be drafting 32nd..

If Geno stays, then use the Broncos pick for Jalen Carter or Wil Anderson.

If they're not able to re-sign Geno then get Bryce Young or Stroud or Levis with that Broncos pick.

However, with the Seahawks own pick, which will probably end up being around 15 or 18, they should get Antonio Johnson. 6'3" safety from Texas A&M. He looks like a Seahawk in these plays.

We could definitely use a player like Johnson, but also check out JL Skinner from Boise State. He's an even more physical hitter who will likely end up having the same or better athleticism at the combine but just played in a smaller conference.

With the lack of padded practices these days it's become enormously difficult to coach up physicality. It makes sense to me to emphasize aggressive toolsy defenders and then you can train up technique with the walkthroughs.

Agree with the general consensus...If there's a chance to snag a once in a generation QB take it. If not, go DE/DT.
I agree if a once in a generation QB is available but, I’m not seeing THAT guy in this draft.

Young is a baller but, he’s a bit small.
Stroud has the physical attributes but is also blessed with a really good o-line (has NFL 1st rounder and other prospects) and receivers. Of course, this isn’t his “fault” but it’s hard to determine how well he’ll perform at the next level. Perhaps we can say that about Young too.

Levis…huge gamble but an even bigger reward if he plays like his highlight film suggests.

It’s all a gamble….

The only sure shots I see are in the defensive side.

I think we go D-line with the first 2. LB at the 3rd pick. See if a guy like Penix is available after that.

Snatch a center and/or guard. Grab a backup to K-9. Take a physically gifted, unheralded #3 WR somewhere along the way.

That’s if Geno resigns. If he doesn’t, it certainly complicates matters.
