Feeling great, but also resigned to the fact that it's going to be a long road with the Hawks. Geno isn't a big play qb, so expecting him to come back from a deficit isn't realistic. Not that it really matters anyway. Just trying to enjoy watching some football, enjoy watching the rooks develop, not expecting anything in the W column, and counting the clock till next April.

OK , I'm also going to say that I didn't see Seattle getting the beat down they got today. I thought about putting a little money on Seattle thinking they would cover the 9.5 point spread. Yeah, good thing I'm lazy.

I don't think they're as bad as people think
That "as bad as people think" thinking is what gets people into thinking that the betting numbers and power rankings are really wrong.

This team has question marks in many places, and doesn't have a starting QB. Let's hope this doesn't drag on forever.

Happy as a clam. Thr Hawks beat Denver, and that's all I really hoped for. Beating the Giants would be nice, since I'm bringing my friend to Seattle for some medical treatments, and we are going to catch that game.

Would have been happier with a Hawks win and a Broncs loss, but hey it was the 9ers and the Astros or Oilers, or something like that.

Special teams were stellar again. The offensive line held up well against the second toughest line we will face all year. The run game is still a work in progress. Geno is producing better than expected, but still struggling to get over the hump.

Defense is playing good positional ball, they just have to work on tackling and tip drills. It looks like a bunch of rookies in a new defensive scheme. Wait, it is a bunch of rookies in a new defensive scheme.

All in all, it's a raw product yet, but you could do worse, as far as raw products go.

It would have been nice to see Russ take another loss, but watching Jim struggle, and have another ugly game, is enough for me this week.

Well that was a shellack job, the O was freaking awful and made a lot of stupid mistakes. The D is still missing tackles regularly. Frankly the edge rush is weak and they are not sealing the edge.

Had Dallas thrown a fade instead of right to the defender that would have been a fun play. Otherwise it sure looked silly.

Nothing they did on O could be sustained and Geno looked like a backup QB which is likely his true ceiling. Think he played over his head last week. The D looks out of sync, but the tackling always involves a first tackle miss.

Too many bad penalties too. Sloppy ST play cost the team points and it was the PS player who screwed up and ran into Lockett who otherwise was the only player on O that really showed up.

Disappointed, but not really surprised, otherwise I feel fine. I had a false hope they might be able to build on last week, however they didn’t and perhaps that was what we might see a good bit this year.

To succeed, developing teams must pass through the threshold of rookieness to get to a solid performance level. I feel good that we checked-off a long list of rookie lessons to be learned sooner rather than later.

Hate to be that guy, but once again sick of the obvious one sided officiating. 49ers had 1 penalty when their oline was grabbing defenders from behind and hooking them. The muffed punt was a penalty, there is absolutely no way they didn't see the 49er gunner shove a Seahawk player into Lockett on a fair catch.

The lack of consistent pass rush is the only thing that troubles me. I'd hoped we'd get a sense that that long-standing issue would start to correct.

The other young position groups are showing encouraging signs.

Gotta love the musical chairs played on the coaching staff, same problems persist, Pete stays, rinse, repeat.
Yeah... i don't think so...they just got beat in the trenches by a better football team. It's going to take some reps to coach up the young guys on offense and defense..

offensively, everytime they get something going they get a penelty and then the turn overs. Cant win that way. Everybody knows the youngs guys are going to hit some bumps in the road shouldnt be surprised when they hit them... but yeah its all Pete and his coaching staff. Right...

Excited about getting a great young QB next year! The niners were in the NFC championship game last year. Their D is awesome. They are the best team in our division. We screwed the pooch on this game. I see us being competitive and winning 5 games! And Denver? 8-9! Two top ten picks? bring it.

I know we supposedly have to have a terrible record to get a good QB (not true, see Penix, he should be a 2nd or 3rd rounder in the worst case - maybe even 4th or 5th).

But even with us losing, I was hoping we would still play tough inspiring football - the kind where you feel adding that QB will make all the difference.
Not seeing that.
No tackling.

But to be fair to the defense, at least they are bowing out near the RZ.

No offense.
Nothing I can say about that we haven't covered.
Great plays by the DBs, even when getting shafted regularly on iffy calls.
But otherwise, not a whole lot to cheer about.

Stupid coaching. Maybe worse than I have seen in a while.

Losing is one thing. But a lot of this is preventable, or worse, the result of some really suspect decisions/tactics.

Still not sold on Waldron. But Clint is rapidly making me lose faith in him too.

My god, the tackling. Maybe they are exhausted because the offense isn't helping. But I think I read we were #29 in tackling effectiveness coming into this game. And likely dropped.
Defense is my favorite part of watching football. The DBs are sticking their helmets in there and trying, but the LBs are not good. Neither is most of the tackling from the DL.

This was a problem all preseason. It looks like we did nothing to address it. THAT pisses me off.
we will need to use some of those picks on top tier D linemen.

I got a solid 15 seconds of happiness when we blocked the FG try. Otherwise it was a meh kind of game. I did go into this season with low expectations though so I’m not going to let it bother me like it would have when I expected us to be playoff contenders.

We need to play teams with a weak rushing defense. 49ers are not one of those teams. They had a 189-36 advantage in rushing and were +3 on turnovers.

I feel OK with it. Let's just move on to the next game and try to keep improving. This is a rebuilding year, and the best is yet to come in '23 and '24. I feel the same way about the Bears after getting beat by Rodgers tonight for the 23rd time.

Feeling fine. Most games are gonna hinge on whether we can run and stop the run. Both of those things are not going to happen successfully against teams like SF. I don't think anything surprising happened other than the Dallas INT. Bad decision or Seattle could've covered, but a lot had to go their way to win
I agree with this sentiment.

Stopping the run is integral.

I had a feeling we might lose today, the niners have a better team than Seattle at this point and their backs were against the wall after losing a very winnable game vs Chicago. Couple that with a huge emotional game on Monday night and .......

OK , I'm also going to say that I didn't see Seattle getting the beat down they got today. I thought about putting a little money on Seattle thinking they would cover the 9.5 point spread. Yeah, good thing I'm lazy.

I don't think they're as bad as people think , I don't think they're as good either. Seattle has a bunch of rookies , 2nd and 3rd year players at very key positions . We're going to have some tough days like today. The fire PC and John Schneider people are going to have fun just as the Russ Wilson fan club members. I'm sure there will be some "bench Geno" posts coming but I am not going to take part . I'm happy cheering for the team Ive followed since the late 70's.

If anything, I'm patient.

The last 12 seasons Seattle has won 18 of the 26 games against San Fransisco . That is a direct result of Pete Carroll and John Schneider. We have some nice players and I'm excited for the journey, the wins will come in time and Seattle will go back to breaking SF freaking back like they have the last 20 years.

Let's Ride !!
Going to be a Tough Year Regardless.
You can’t be in this Division with a QB that isn’t Respected and that’s where we’re at.
The Tackling Today, Preseason as Well, is Miserable, that’s uncalled for.

About as expected though I thought the young DB’s would be better.
This is a 4 or 5 win team tops. Should get a quality QB in next years draft.

This is a sacrificial year.

I knew we were going to have to lose. Maybe in my head I knew it was best for the team future and was ready for it.

I didn't know we were going to lose like this. And I wasn't ready for it.

Expected we would lose after the high of last week, but even though last week was a game the Broncos technically lost vs us winning - I thought we were better than I thought.
I still think we will be a .500 team. Just not sure how, based on what I am seeing.

Pete will personally feel the losses during this season and retire. Clint Hurtt will be promoted to head coach of the Seahawks with Pete's approval upon retirement.

I feel fine. Young team without a franchise QB. There are bound to be bumps in the road and growing pains. Onto Atlanta
