Geno is the worst season opening QB in Seahawks history.

You think it's bad at QB? It gets much worse. Jodi with an "I" Allen is the worst owner in team history. Had Paul Allen not got the stadium built, the team would be looking to move in the next few years.

She inherited one of the greatest franchises in the NFL (setup wise) and she's running the team into the ground.

The Seahawks are a missed high draft pick at QB away, from being in dire straits for the next decade. 90's Seahawks is just about here. (We may already be there.)
What a dumb post. She’s been pretty hands off. You’d rather have a Jerry Jones who screws his team over for decades? You sound like an emotionally charged teenager.

Just wondering where all the folks who wanted Russ traded stand on this? You guys went from hooting and hollering when Geno stood in last year (some even claiming Geno was better than Russ and the offense looked better, DK was getting mad and it was better than Geno, etc.). Some of those folks then got excited about Lock.

Yet, here we are. I know…season hasn’t started yet.

Right.

You heard it here first, folks.

Fade hates Jody Allen so much that he would rather root for the LA Seahawks than spell her name correctly.

Right.
Most of us who thought a Russ trade would be good for the franchise probably weren't basing that decision on how competitive the 2022 team would be.

Fair enough. Here’s to hoping we can do something with our draft capitol, develop the potential we have, and get back into it.

That would be me, I advocated to trade Wilson in 2020, and I still think that was a better opportunity to trade him, too bad Pete vetoed that. Then Wilson forced his way out after a 7-10 2021 season. 2020 was before Geno played, so my decision wasn't influenced by Geno.

As for Geno in 2021, if you watched the Rams game, the team did move better after Geno took over. In case you haven't watched it, this happened after Geno stepped in for Wilson:

Geno Smith the WORST Starter for the Seahawks???? = BULLSHIT!! and it's NOT EVEN CLOSE to being true!
Some of y'all are SET ON BELIEVING what you want to believe, and I'm NOT even REMOTELY interested in trying to fix some of y'all's weirdo thinking on this particular matter.

I’m gonna give Geno a pass. Liked what he did with Lockett. more promising stuff with DK will happen. But him holding on to the ball god knows how long is what pisses me off about him. I think he’ll get like 3 or 4 of those a game, some of which might cost games. Otherwise, perfect game manager that I can somewhat stand.

Been a Hawk fan from BIRTH baby!
Was alive during Zorn's time, but in diapers.

Sure, they sucked hard, I considered Stouffer and crew. But as mentioned in the OP, we thought there was POTENTIAL with the 90's QBs. 95+% of fans know there is zero potential with Geno.

This is why Geno fairly get the worst season opener award.
Lets not get into a pissing match, you were not a Seahawks fan in your first years of life, maybe your parents were, but I was actually there in 1976.

I lived in Seattle back in the 60s. Was at their first ever win, in preseason against San Diego, was at their first ever home playoff game against Denver and I wasn't in diapers.

I was there on my own dime and travel costs. I have not missed a single game; either in person, on radio (when not on tv) or on TV, or the internet and that includes living in 3 different countries in that 46 years and Geno is NOT the worst ever opening day Hawk QB!

Also I object that you speak for all the "WE" who you claim thought there was potential in those shit drafts of QBs.

However I do agree, I am not happy with Geno as the QB, however I think you are over generalizing your disgust. Geno will be way better than some of the former Shit QB's that this team and its fan base have endured.

There's definitely reason to be excited about the outlook. If this draft ends up being as great as the initial returns look, they've essentially created a perfect cocoon to drop a rookie into. Book ends on the line, nice options in the receiving game, a future bellcow in K9... and they've definitely got the capital to maneuver within reason around the board.
Yeah, it was never about 2022 for me. Whatever happens here happens. My thing was the long-term outlook for the franchise. It was the natural time to move on while still getting a meaty haul to set up the next core roster.

Plenty of terrible qbs throughout my life as a hawks fan....but Geno is bad. Drew is better. No argument. Drew hasn't been given a fair shake because Pete is a liberal hack. Equity comes before victory in Pete's book. Pete has been putting his liberal agenda ahead of his team for a couple years now. It's made the hawks weak. Pete is soft and so is this team. And don't even get me started on Pete's disgusting display of nepotism. Hiring your stupid kids to coach nfl receivers like DK? Give me a damn break. Pete is absolutely horrible. And it's all because Pete is too worried about his liberal image. That's truth.

Right.

I'm here and I'm good. I'd wager the majority of folks who were 'good' with Russ being gone were also good with us not drafting a qb this year and rolling with either Geno or Lock until we got who we wanted.

What's amazing to me is how many times I or others have to post the exact same thing. Actually, it's not amazing, it's just a sign of the times.

One more time. The team made a decision to move on from Russ. That decision had zero to do with whether or not they could replace him this year with a 'franchise' guy. Moving him now was necessary to get max return. And that was absolutley fine.

If Lock or Geno play ok to well, which is a seeming impossibility to some, cool. We win some games, maybe surprise some folks, and draft a qb next year.

If Geno or Lock play poorly and we win fewer games, that's cool too. We still get our qb bnext year.

We have enough draft capital to get who we want regardless of whether we finish 5 and 12, 7 and 10, or 9 and 8. Doesn't matter.

What's obvious in these posts about swinging Xs and Os talk to conversation around political leanings and how Pete has a liberal agenda ( wtf ? So this is an affirmative action issue? ), or posters talking about how Geno looks dumb, or that he shouldn't start because of questionable morals??

The play of the QBs is what was evaluated this offseason. I wanted Lock to win the job as much as anybody because I think he has more talent and upside. But although he looked better in the scrimmage he didn't perform better overall in the opportunities he had. Throwing a beautiful ball to Hart for a TD doesn't offset the missed reads, late throws and INts.

We still may get to see what Lock can do, long term, but he showed he's not ready yet. YET.

We have two QB options this year and the team picked the one who performed more consistently in practice (which we have no access to) and in games. They picked the guy who managed the huddle better, made line calls better, adjusted protections better and had a better raport with the players.

Non of the above means Drew was bad or not liked. It means he wasn't as good.

Don't know what to say if you're too wrapped up in your dislike for Jody (with an i), Pete canning Russ, or choosing Geno (i guess the Black option = less capable?) beating out Lock ( The Whte option = and clearly the winner and sidelined because of his skin color??) - seriously, WTF. Or too upset in general about everything about this team that wasn't Russell Wilson to be able to comprehend posts that don't align with what would think.

Must be a really miserable time for you right now.

It is completely possible to see the light at the end of the tunnel and not be concerned with a temporary darkness. But for some, it's apparent that 'darkness' is too much to take.

Lynch was the reason for our offensive success. So why didn’t PC develop a replacement before trading RW? Or have a plan to get another franchise QB? Our future largely depends on the draft and PC doesn’t have the inside information he had back then. Things may actually get much worse.

This thread has brought back some ...lackluster if not painful memories. :)

Oh, I remember Mirer, too ...

This thread will be prescient of the year.

Our Offense will be a shit-show.

JS mostly takes the lead on the draft despite the organizational structure, and the "inside information" theory is half-baked at best.

This is one of the dumber posts I've seen on .net, and that's really saying something. Leave your political leanings at home when talking about football.

See the post directly above yours for a great answer to your questions in green. I mean seriously, it is literally the post right above yours.
