Not season ending, I guess this could be thought of as good news

Ouch. It's always the non-contact injuries that kill ya.

Shit. Well, all my optimism was for nought then. Is there a minimum time he has to be out?

I believe this puts him out until Week 11.

Well, fair enough. He'll miss 8 games then. Honestly, I think we can do alright without him. We're lucky to have a mobile guy like Wilson, makes this less impactful than if we had say a Manning or a Ryan or a Rodgers.

Agreed. And if it means we're at full strength on offense (assuming Percy comes back too) for the last month + playoffs.. I think we're all good with that.

Well, i feel better having an answer. It's the speculation that drives me nuts.

No one is going to pretend that playing without Okung doesn't hurt. The team has a history of players stepping up and exceeding expectations. Hope Bailey gets his feet wet a bit this weekend.

Likely doesn't mean "for sure' Either way, I think there are positives here, especially where it concerns being ready for the playoffs.

Bowie and Bailey looked pretty good in preseason, not 'ready for primetime' good, but with some playing time, these could be 2 fantastic tackles for our future. Having them will also influence resigning other players because of how cheap they are.

Russell is one of the best left tackles in the NFL and we will miss him, but with Tom Cable & Co. we will be just fine. Probably do a lot more running which will also benefit this team come playoff time.

The other year McQuistan held his own quite nicely at LT. I'm not terribly concerned about the position overall. That said, I hope we give Bailey some good reps at LT as well. He's young, but given all the stars we'll have to extend over the next few years, it will be good to know what we have in this guy...just in case. Believe me, I'd rather keep Okung, but we've already seen the axe fall on relatively inexpensive players, so...

Ryan or Rodgers, sure. But Manning gets that ball out QUICK. He made several mediocre LTs look decent in Indy.

Here's hoping that Bevell incorporates some more rollouts and quick routes into the gameplan, because we don't want Wilson holding on to the ball waiting for a long route to develop.

Every major source reporting he's going to the IR with return designation list.. so I think thats a safe assumption now.

Great point by Breer here too:

The Okung news shows the wisdom in the Seahawks keeping Percy Harvin on PUP. Saved the IR-return designation, which is huge now.

Seems like the best news we could hope for in the situation, though is anyone a little concerned we have to play JJ Watt next week...?
