^^^^^ Someone knows a loss is coming vs UW. ^^^^^

There's a reason i'm getting my shots in now!

Actually I think the DUcks win this year. Next year... we'll see. Although our best two offensive players got hurt today. If they're long term injuries thats not good.

This defense mechanism is hilarious given how Huskies love to tell anyone who will listen about how successful and rich they are.

Not quite sure what you're referring to, since it isn't true in the slightest. Paul Allen contributes zillions of dollars to the Computer Science program (CSE shares a building with EE - the CSE side is all glass, carpet, and luxury while the EE side is bare concrete floors and echoes). Phil Knight contributes zillions of dollars to the O football program, buying luxury athletic facilities and 28 different uniform designs every year, designed to appeal to inner city kids who have no idea what is actually important but know what they like. Poor guys end up with an inferior UO education, and the memory of 28 different uniform designs per year.

When Huskies tell people how successful and rich they are, we mean our personal selves due to the superior education. Not the football program, because our rich and successful alumni don't make their riches off the backs of child labor overseas making stupid-looking shoes, and don't contribute zillions of dollars to the athletic program.

To suggest that UW alumni have any "envy" as regards the U. of Oregon or WSU is beyond ludicrous, the Puget Sound region is full of duck and coug alumni who all share one thing in common, they couldn't get into UW. Is UW the only quality academic institution in the PAC-12? No, but it is the only one in the Northwest. Is that arrogance? Maybe, but only as much as it relates to the hard work and dedication that it took to achieve that status.

As for the duck program, on top of all the sleazy commercialism Whoregon has utilized to attract recruits, the last two years has seen them con QB's from smaller schools to abandon their schools in their last year of eligibility to come and bail out the hapless ducks. This, in spite of their dubious commitment to multiple quarterbacks who were recruited to play quarterback, young athletes who worked hard and patiently waited for their turn to come up through the system. The message comes through loud and clear, we don't need to develop our own players, we'll just go out and buy them, just like everything else we do.

Not to worry though, Helfrich is on the hot seat and Uncle Phil has already been in talks with the administration to "donate" enough to go out and "recruit" the best college football coach that money can BUY.

Take a wild guess who the highest paid coach is in the PAC 12 right now

Coach's salaries are paid by the football program which is self-supporting. In fact, the revenue from the football and basketball programs at UW pay for all of the school's athletic programs.

It works that way at essentially every university

A coach's salary reflects their marketability, I don't know of another coach in the Pac-12 who was hired into their position w/better credentials than Petersen. But to answer your question, Oregon's Helfrich was the highest paid coach in the conference last year.

While football is the most lucrative sport for almost every university, the majority of schools actually spend more on their sports than they bring in from them.

Point is you just sound silly saying Oregon is going to BUY another coach when UW made Petersen the highest paid coach in the conference.

12 years of beatdowns has left you bitter.....but we already knew this.

I think it's probably good to know what you are talking about before you post.

http://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/salaries/

Helfrich, who had never even been a head coach, made $3,685,000 last year.

Petersen, who was the winningest coach in the NCAA, made $3,600,000 last year.

Like I said, not only is Oregon's coach the highest paid in the Pac-12 but their entire coaching staff is higher paid than Washington's.

I have supported both the Huskies and Seahawks my entire life, through good and bad, duck fans, most of whom never even went to U.Oregon, are duck fans for the same reason they are fans of the Seahawks, i.e., winning. As soon as the Seahawks have a losing season they will be gone like rats from a sinking ship. Go over to eDuck, that place is a graveyard compared to what it was, and like your ducks v Nebraska thread on this board, are begging for $Uncle $Phil to cough up some more money for a new coach.

Pathetic.

Helfrich had never been a coach? What?

You don't even realize Helfrich was given a pay raise after leading the team to a PAC 12 championship, Rose Bowl victory and appearance in the national title game.

You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. You're just so damn bitter.

You wrote that Petersen was the highest paid coach in the Pac, that wasn't true was it?

It's obvious that I was talking about credentials when they were hired. Nice backpedal though.

duck fans are so shame-based.

Helfrich got a big bonus paid to him for the 2014-2015 season. They made the national title game that season.

Base salary Petersen makes more. In the list he is clearly above every other coach in the PAC 12. It's really not hard to see that.

Even if you want to play semantics my point still stands anyways. To say Oregon will go BUY a coach when the Huskies paid Petersen a bunch of money to leave Boise St makes you look silly.

Stay bitter

You said Petersen was the highest paid coach in the Pc-12, you didn't say anything about "base salary," and the last time I looked, bonuses were part of the "pay" you receive.

But keep trying to justify the the indefenseable, you're good at that.

Stay shamed.

Bonuses are just that - bonuses. They aren't guaranteed. You earn them if your team performs.

Petersen is clearly above all other coaches in the PAC 12 on the list. Pretending like he's not is once again just silly.

And again, as I said, that's besides the point. UW clearly went out and paid Petersen a ton of money to leave Boise St, the very thing you were being critical of. You look foolish.

I'm sorry your original point on this was terrible, but these are the facts.

I repeat, you said "highest paid" coach, period.

People that post inaccuracies on the board lose their credibility.

Sounds like a guilt complex to me.

The fact that you cannot separate humor from fact comes as no surprise, and it just further illustrates how when confronted w/the facts of their unethical program, a duck will always try to deflect by changing the subject or otherwise by just posting falsehoods. :0190l:
