Russ will be happy with just the Super Bowl MVP.

I guess the OP thought this was some sort of reverse bulletin board material.

Who cares? Cam deserves the regular season award.

Wilson is on the cam is mvp train... Here is the story if you don't believe me. Nice way of Wilson to show respect to cam though.

I didn't read the article, but just knowing Russ of course he's going to say that.
Yup. Russ is a man like that. An English gentleman, in fact. They are totally weird but they do exactly what they say and expect their friends to follow. Russell means business and to him awards are nice but championships are the whole point. And you don't win championships in the modern NFL by yourself.

Let Cam have the regular season accolades. Doesn't mean anything and doesn't change the fact that a freight train is coming to Charlotte this Sunday.

Yep, Cam can certainly learn some things from Wilson about humility.
Cam is who he is. He's a grown man and there's no changing him. He will never develop respect for opponents or the game.

Cam absolutely respects the game. It's only his antics make it look like he doesn't. He's worked his ass off to become a legit NFL QB. As far as respecting opponents, he expresses that by preparing for them. On the field, such expressions of respect for opponents... well, not so much. No time to fit them in between dancing and strutting.

You are who you portray yourself as.

His actions disrespect his competition and the game.

Yup! He has well-rehearsed act in pressers and the like; however, looking at his complete portfolio, a truckload of visual cues give him away. Many of his actions betray how phony his words are. I'm sure there are elements of truth to either side of the argument on Cam, but when you include a Superman act as part of your game, that's a telltale sign that he really only has respect for one person.

I had a friend at work try to explain to me that placing the towel over his head and moping when things weren't going right is Cam's way of selflessly putting the whole team's failure upon himself. WRONG, that is Cam thinking that if he's not getting it done the rest of the teams has no chance. SOOOO, rather than exercising some leadership on his teammates, he just goes in tank until he gets the next chance to singlehandedly save the day. It's called SELF-CENTERED.

Cam has got to be the most successful troll in all the universe. He'd make a GREAT professional wrestler.

Part of any sport is mental. You've heard it said that this player has "mental" toughness or that player doesn't. Part of being mentally tough is not letting your emotions get the best of you. Play with controlled aggression. You see this in almost every sport. Fear and anger are probably two of the most hardest emotions to control. Some would say that the Minnesota kicker missed that FG because he was afraid of it getting blocked (Sherman was an inch away from blocking the last one). Anger caused the Cinncinatti Bengals to implode on that last drive and lose the game. Whatever Burfict and Pacman may be, they're not mentally tough.

Be careful when playing the Panthers because Cam will troll you hard and maybe even make you write letters to the editor fearing for the future of your children.

He's had his best year, but to me MVP should be decided on who wins in the playoffs and ultimately the SB for the QB position.

They already have an award for that...it's called the Super Bowl MVP. MVP for the regular season is different. People define MVP differently but to me it's the one player that makes other's around him better. Cam does that. Wilson does that. Kuechly does that. Brady does that. A lot of players do that. It's subjective in the end as all awards are but I would argue that Cam has made this Carolina team better than they otherwise should have been. If we had Derek Anderson as our starting QB we wouldn't be 15-1. I love Anderson and think he's a fine QB and he could probably start for a number of teams right now and have success...but he's no Cam. People like to say that Cam has redefined the QB position but I don't believe that. Nobody can do what Cam has done as efficiently as he's done it. Sure Steve Young had the same amount of games with a rushing and passing touchdown. But it took him 15 years to do it. It took Cam 5. Granted Cam started from day one and Young didn't.

Not surprised by a lot of your responses.

You get to the end zone, in an NFL game, you get the right to celebrate. You’ve worked hard. You’re a professional athlete. If you don’t get a chance to celebrate in the pros, when do you get a chance to celebrate? When do you get to show what you can do – to enjoy yourself?

This is a game. Some people who have never played it, who have never expressed passion, sit behind desks all day and do that. Maybe you celebrate sometimes when you do something great, and nobody judges you, because nobody is watching. As you’re watching him, enjoy it, because he is enjoying it. He can enjoy his craft. If he wants to celebrate, that’s fine.

Cam isn't any different than Jim Kelley. Kelley made it to the SB 4 times and never won one, and is not in a conversation about MVP.

I don't know, maybe at the end of the game with your mates after you've actually won the game, and not just gotten a first down?

No, he's not, go watch him pout with a towel over his head when things are not going his way.
too bad for your weak argument that doesn't apply here.
