im ok with his play calling in for the first 58 minutes of the game but he seems to play like we are up 50 points every time there is less than 2 minutes left on the game?

One of my questions is do you think he will ever be put on the hot seat for his final play calling for the last 2 minutes of every game?

Aside from the Washington game I cant think of any time i liked his play calling for the final minutes of the game.

He's a good coach. But he's mostly a figurehead. Its Pete's defense. Wont be greatly missed if he's gone, but i'd like to keep him.

Players and coaches in the know seem to love him. I have no real problem with him. Just wish we'd play more aggressive at the end of game, like we did last week.

We need a lot more creativity.

But more importantly, we need a bona fide pass rush - every down. That cannot be understated. He only has so much to work with.

The loss of Clemons was huge. But even before that, pass rush continues to be our huge glaring need.

I've wanted him gone for 2+ years now. His soft zone/prevent is responsible for many losses this year including this one. Did his soft zone sack RYAN once?

It's hard to tell how good the DC is when the head coach is defense oriented. Kind of like how we never really knew how good of a coach Gil Haskell was.

I'd rather Bradley stick around for continuity sake, but I won't lose any sleep if he becomes the Eagles (or somebody else's) next head coach.

Seeing as how we were the last team with which Haskell held a coaching role, I think it's safe to say he was just a Holmgren crony. That seems especially true seeing as how he followed Holmgren to Cleveland where he became an "advisor". Probably the highest paid coffee retrieval specialist in the history of organized sports.

To Bradley's credit, I thought we brought the blitz alot more frequently in this game. Partly out of necessity because we can't get pressure with our front 4, but we just couldn't get home on the attempts we did take.

I'm kinda with J - somewhat hard to evaluate as he is a product of Pete's Defensive philosophies and so his schemes are likely designed to adhere to his philosophies

i.e. - eliminate explosive plays

Did we not have 3 or four games where in the last 1 min the d allowed 2 or 3 large plays for a come back based upon coverage? I cant believe we can play so well for a game and have those large gains in the last minute.

almost laughable as getting early pressure on ryan was key, and that key was no brainer..

*sigh*

No kidding, that first pick by Ryan was because a blitzer was about to whack him.

In his defense we sucked at that late game zone for years under Holmgren too. It is another of our trademarks. Other teams seem to not struggle like that but we do a lot. Drives us all crazy.

The entire idea is to not let the receiver get behind you for a big gain and allow inside the field minor gains. We seem to omit the "minor" gains.

I too think prevent defenses prevent you from winning. Damn sure how it worked out today.

We have a that is responsible to 2, maybe 3 if I am not remembering 1, losses in the regular season and is responsible for the loss today. We have a defense that isn't clutch. It also has a massive hole when it comes to the running game that this team hasn't been able close or compensate for, and has since been unable to stop the run since it was discovered. Needless to say I am not very impressed.

The prevent is a vestige from the Tampa 2. I understand the logic of it but in use it seems to fail as often as it works. Look at yesterday's game Manning was eating them alive when they played man

I suspect they use it as much as they do because the DBs are better as a group that the DL is at putting pressure on the QB

But that wasn't a prevent defense at the end. A soft zone maybe, but we blitzed and had 4 down lineman on both plays. The pass rush was just completely ineffective, and with the blitz it created holes in the zone.

Pete Carroll has a ton of control over the offense and defense. It's impossible to criticise one play without knowing who was responsible.

All of our coaches are doing a great job. We won 12 games this season in total. Let's not find scapegoats!!!
