Interesting to see if they make a move. I dont think they had to do that. There has to be a reason why.

Saw some people floating the idea of Vita Vea on Reddit.

1 of 3 things was going to happen this week. Either Adams was going to be released, Adams was going to agree to a pay cut to avoid being released, or the Seahawks were going to keep him for 2023 at $11M. If if was the later, (and it is), it made sense to restructure his contract. His new salary is vet minimum and the rest as a pro-rata signing bonus over the 3 remaining years of his contract. It's still the full $11M. This move is exactly as expected, although it's not what some hoped for.

We were too tight on the cap. Couldn’t afford to replace anyone going on IR. This frees up money. Possible we can pick up a player

They are sitting around $10 million in cap space, I think. Definitely room to make a move.

Probably a restructure to get under the cap. Doubt it is to bring a vet in.

I think JS restructured Lockett to get about 6 or 7 mil in space. Then same with QDiggs. JAdams accomplished the same. It provides somewhere just south of 10mil in cap space for practice squad use, injury replacements and/or any move that's too good to pass. It's not so much money that JAdams couldn't be cut next offseason if that's best for the team.

Oh man. I was looking forward to his cap hit dropping to $14M next year. Do we suck up $24M if he has a meh year or gets hurt?
