Holy crap why release Desir?

They still have 5 CBs plus Tyson and McCray. I expect them to cut both Tyson and McCray and hopefully get Tyson to the PS.

We're playing liars poker right now as well, lots of teams are releasing vets at the moment so the market is flooded, the shuffle begins and PS will get filled and we will shuffle again for a lower salary on some players I would guess to bring back.

Excellent point ... so perhaps maybe you CAN sneak (say a Desir) onto the Practice Squad and stash for later -- just because of the current landscape of the market. Interesting thought.

I could be wrong, but I believe Desir has ps eligibility and Thorpe does not, so this could be the team taking a gamble trying to retain both guys.

I think it also reiterates how important special teams are to the fringe guys.

I would have to agree that in this case, Special Teams play was the deciding factor on why Thorpe made the Final 53 ... and Desir didn't. That's not the way I would have rolled, but I'm not the one making the decisions.

Personally, I'm hoping that we can somehow sneak Desir onto the Practice Squad once again.

They value Coleman and we still have Jeremy Lane to play outside or inside. So, ST upside for a 5th CB wins the roster spot...and we all know that special teams and field position factor largely into wins.
