Forget nicknames... These jabronies at NFL network need to start refering to Mr. Wilson as SIR.

^ this. Or better yet, Mr. Super Bowl MVP.

Why do people try to give out nicknames anyway. These things should sort of happen spontaneously rather than contrived.

I think I'd rather have the masses give him one before Chris Berman does.

Exactly! When you try to force it, you wind up with something stupid like calling Russell Okung "King Kung". Worst nickname EVER.

Straight-up "King Kung" would be tight, though.

Dont' let them clowns rename our guy. he cool just the way he is.
Media always tries to do this, then next thing you know they calling you by some stupid nickname that has no swag to it like its your real name.
then you gotta spend the next 10, 20 years of your life explaining that your name is not "the honey badger"

Why does everyone need a nickname? And his twitter name, dangeruss, is already perfect for him.

LOL @ This. We all know its either:

1. DangeRuss

2. Houdini

Or my personal moniker for him...

3. Nightcrawler aka NightcRaWl3r

"Now you see him -poof- now you don't -poof- Touchdown Sea-HAWKS!!"

Chocolate Flutie is so good...I still consider Dangeruss as his "offical nickname" or whatever but Chocolate Flutie will forever hold a special place in my heart.

While I think that both "Tan Marino" and "Chocolate Flutie" are clever, I don't like them because the suggestion is that Russ is in the mold of another player. He's definitely not a player that fits into a mold.

I like Russell, plain and simple, one name only. Who cares if there are other guys with the same first name, he is THE Russell Wilson!

Tan Darkenton?

But seriously how does this guy not know his nick-name is already DangeRuss? Unless he's trying to change it which would be really stupid.

He knows it, and said " I like DangeRuss best". IMO that should settle the matter. End of story.
NFLN should drop it.
