Why should Sherman have to follow the #1? If the #1 is so great, why can't they just go line up where Sherman is since he's clearly mediocre and only a product of the scheme? Should be easy money, right? And he doesn't get that much help at all, really. Seems like most of the time he's targeted, it's one-on-one (with a #2 or #3 running decoy or clear-out, so again, he doesn't need/get much help as Earl and/or Kam are in the box or shifting towards #1 or #2.)

He's an idiot. Says Sherman's the best, then says he's not. SU, idiot.

This is nothing but a New York story.

This gets ink because Antonio Cromartie plays for the Jets and is aided by Darrelle Revis being a former Jet. If the
former played for Jacksonville or Cleveland this wouldn't even be a story.

If Sherman was a Jet or a Giant he'd not only be the best CB in the NFL he'd be the best CB EVER.

If you're the best corner in the game and you're vocal about it, it's no wonder others will start to hate on you. It's been this way for a long time and will most likely even continue after Sherms retirement. So there is no need to take the words of someone not even comparable to Richard to heart.

When Revis was no longer a jet, Sherman was the best. Now that Revis has rejoined gang green, he is once again the best.

Cromartie is just trying to get attention to the Jets. Most NFL fans who don't study our defense will always use that argument but those who understand just how much he affects other offenses gameplans know he is the best CB in the league. Aaron Rodgers who is arguably (probably) the best QB in the NFL never tests Sherm. He tried once in the NFCCG and Sherm looked like the WR on the interception. Brady barely threw his way in the SB and if he did they weren't much past the line of scrimmage.

OMG wilsonmvp this is GOLD!!!!

I'm yet to see people say ET is good because Kam/Sherm, or Marshawn is good because of RW.

Bennett, Kam, ET, and Marshawn are all already established as top 3-5 in their positions. So is Sherm, but the only problem is he likes to say he is THE BEST, so that leaves for people to criticize.

This is pretty much exactly the fan/media/opposing player argument. The Seahawks are this random collection of below-average to mediocre players, who, when put on the field together, magically combine powers to inexplicably become some sort of Power Rangers/Captain Planet-esque mega-robot/mythical being.

Beautiful references. :D (I'm partial to Captain Planet.)

So someone tweets at Sherman the article from last year where Cromartie admits Sherman is the best.... Sherman responds with a LOL

Pretty much classic Cromaritie....saying whatever he thinks he needs to say to get some airtime. Hard to take him seriously

Sherman says what he is, and his numbers back him up, now it's up to those others to stop arguing and start proving him wrong :stirthepot:

I have about ML and RW. :)

ML was a very good back, He became great combined with the threat of RW. It's helped both of them. Concentrate on ML, RW will burn you, concentrte on RW, ML will burn you. Fun to watch.

Cromartie is just sticking up for an ex-teammate.

His comments are ironic though, considering that last season Revis played in basically the same type of system Seattle uses and had a very, very good safety tandem behind him.

Eerily similar to the Jimmy Johnson Cowboys in so many ways and what people said about them. In my opinion. This guy is so good because of that guy and that guy is so good because of this guy and this factor makes it all better and so on and so forth.

Though you'll notice it all starts and ends with a quarterback that takes care of the ball and plays like nails in the clutch even when the opponent knew exactly what was coming.

Sherman takes the sweet spot from many right handed quarterbacks.
