If Bradley tossed him, I'm not sure why we would pick him up. I guess its not a big deal though as I seriously doubt he makes the team.

Keep this in mind when you say he's finished: he was playing for a sorry ass team and that kills motivation.

He will be motivated by the chance at another right but also being back with his boys. That will do wonders for motivation and sometimes athletes have innate abilities to pull through against all odds when the right motivation is there.

The biggest surprise for me out of all of this is the level of hatred the jags fans have for him. Apparently he was a real asshole to the media and some teammates there, apparently this isn't new behavior either, I never heard about any of this during his tenure here.

As others have already mentioned, working as a 3rd down rush specialist I can see it. Look what Freeney gave AZ last year.
I was going to mention that. I think it's a low risk move with potential great upside.

My feelings as well..All we need is Brandon Browner to complete our FA season.

Let's all remember that Raheem Brock was washed up in '10, and Pete got 8 sacks out of him in a limited pass rush role. Clem already knows the role and what it takes to compete to make this roster. This is a good move.

Yup. I see this as a similar signing. Only this time we're getting a guy we already know is a fit in the locker room and has had success here.

This is a great depth move.

Hes probably coming in to compete for the Left Tackle spot. :D

Ha!

Seriously though, he might be here just to help train the left tackles.

If nothing else he might bring some swagger back to the defense. I could see him getting 4-6 sacks and filling in nicely on 3rd downs.

I look at it as a coaching move to help our young pass rushers that are here now and will be soon, technique and moves.

That's exactly what I was thinking. He showed a young Bruce Irvin the ropes back in the day, time to show Frank Clark how to play the LEO.

Another thought is that although he is 34 years of age Chris has always taken phenomenal care of his body. I wouldn't be surprised he does well for us as a rotational pass rusher.

Good signing. Cant understand the level of animosity some are showing towards this signing other than "he not JJ Watt, he not good!"

Great! We signed an old dude!

We might as well sign worthless journeyman Red Bryant. Let's get the band back together!

He will be fine. If he gets 4 and a half sacks....inst that what the 9.25 million dollar man got last year?

Actually at this point I'd be surprised/thrilled if Clemons put up the production of Cassius Marsh.

I loved Clem for what he brought this team after we traded for him.. but his best days are long behind him.

Agreed.. if there is one thing this defense lacked last year.. it was a corner to draw 15 flags a game.

Sign me up.

I am really surprised by some of the posts on this thread. If one just looks at the expected role it is easy to see him being a valuable situation pass rusher for this season. You give him about 8-12 snaps a game and he stays fresh for every game and the season.

Just relax and lets see what happens.

Rushing to form an opinion on a contract when you don't know the value is an interesting strategy. Perhaps they're running out and the reasonable people will be stuck with crummy leftover opinions.
