I hate to say it, but I think Bevel is doing what Carroll wants him to do.
Change-up from game to game, and take what the Defenses give you.
Establish the run if you can, and if it's working, stay with it, don't get cute, don't take chances and give the opponent the ball, and the time to beat you = conservative
If you aren't having the success you want with the 'Run game', you go with other options that is in the playbook.
It just bugs the shit out of me that we start sitting on a lead way too early in the games, and throw it on the Defense to keep the opponent from catching up.
Now I know it isn't showy or flamboyant, but for the most part?, this formula seems to be working for us, so it seems Pete is convinced to stay the course.
My ONLY gripe with this?, This is the play-offs, and we really do need to start thinking OUTSIDE the box.
