QFT. We haven't had that kind of lead yet this year, really. With that, and a little bit of luck, it can continue.HawkerD":1loi3cxi said:FlyingGreg":1loi3cxi said:We played with a lead and forced the Jets to throw it.

You cannot underestimate how much this plays into our style of play. Getting a lead, especially 2 TD's, makes the opponent predictable and plays to our strong suit which is downfield pass defense and doesn't allow the dink and dunk where we are sometimes susceptible.
When Seattle is aggressive on both sides of the ball, they usually win.FlyingGreg":2ws5o320 said:We played with a lead and forced the Jets to throw it.

I've said this in a few threads. Yeah, when you get a rep as a team that forces turnovers, opponents tend to play more carefully and focus on things like you said.mikeak":33lup5ve said:There were some comments during the game about how you play Seattle "carefully" and are fine punting the ball. It made me think that we are worried about why the turnovers aren't coming but ignoring that opponents "play a bit scared against us". They go over the middle, short yardage and try to get 1st downs but are happy to punt. Point being the lack of turnovers could be due to game planning that overall is helping our defense keeping the opponents to low scoring....
