After he lost weight, he looked fantastic out there. It is too bad Bevell only wanted him to carry the ball for one series.

In that massive 17 carry sample size prior to today?

I felt he was the most complete back on the team at the start of the year, he can play every down.
Maybe next week he'll get a whole game's worth of opportunities and not just the 2nd half.
Your offense can be so much more effective if you are a threat to run power plays right at the D on occasion.
I'd like to see us be a threat to pound on teams with Reece and Collins from here on out and into the playoffs.
When your O Line struggles, get them fired up and have them road grade some, they have to be able to do that, you don't have to be extremely talented or experienced to run power.
Soften the D with Reece and Collins, it'd make RWs job so much easier, bring in Rawls and CJ for a change of pace.

Having watched him for 4 years, I always felt his biggest attributes were his eyes, football smarts and instincts, that is where his biggest gifts lie IMO.
So early on, he couldn't rely on super quickness or top end speed to make plays like CMike, or Rawls or even Pope could. Maybe his "slowness" was him still getting adjusted to the game.
He's always going to look slow compared to a smaller, jitterbug kind of RB, but those kind of backs are injury prone, can't pass protect, can't wear down a D, can't be depended on for steady production. have to be swapped in and out due to down and distance.
I thought coming into the season AC would easily be quick enough to play NFL RB, and barely fast enough.
If the game slows down for him (and I think it has now) those rare running instincts he possesses are going to shine, the kind of instincts Rawls, CMike, or even most RBs simply don't have.
AC's record of durability is unsurpassed, whatever he's capable of, it'll be available game in, game out, stronger in the 4th quarter than in the 1st.
AC may yet prove to be the long term answer at RB, at least until next year's draft.

If I'm in a foxhole someday, I want you next to me AC, you loyal son of a gun. I always enjoy your enthusiasm with Alex. I've been a skeptic, but I sure hope you are right. Keep reppin your boy as long as you believe in him!
