A DE of Jared Allen's caliber is worth way more to Seattle right now than another 5'10 WR. That's the exact reason why they low-balled Tate. To offer Jackson the same deal as Allen, especially with a deep WR class coming up, would be crazy. And he wouldn't accept it anyway.
I disagree. A pro-bowl WR in his prime who is a dynamic playmaker on a team desperately needing WR help is much more valuable than a 32 year old rotational DE who is a one trick pony 4-3 DE who just rushes the passer.
JS/PC has a penchant for going after the special unique talents. Both guys qualify as such but we need WR's more than DE's at this point having lost our #1 and #2 WR's from last year while our other WR was hurt all year.
