Playoffs start, what is the rotation? Gilbert, Kirby and then Woo?

Depends a lot on that last week of the season. If we're sailing in they can set things up optimally. If they need wins in that last series against the Dodgers, we're gonna need those guys then.

If we're free to choose, then: Woo, Castillo, Gilbert

It's a tough decision, but I think people are getting too caught up with Kirby's overall season stats and not what he's done since he's gotten completely healthy. Take out his first two starts coming off injury and he has an ERA of 3.13. I have a hard time leaving Kirby out, but you can say the same for Castillo. At least it's a good problem to have.

Yeah, I think Castillo has been a close second this season and pretty consistent.

i think kirby would be the game three starter if we were up 2-0 and Gilbert would be starter if tied or 0-2 against. Gilbert is better with his back against the wall, handles adversity better imo

And I don't think it gets enough attention, but he's fairly new to pitching vs. other guys. He started pitching way later. He's a beast, and absolutely the Ace of this team, imo. The Rock had people talking about releasing him. How's that working out? He's been damn solid overall.

It's a good problem to have that we have varying opinions on the top 3 in the playoffs.
The way things are right now? I would go Woo, Castillo and Gilbert in that order. And IF they had Kirby as a #4? That's probably the best #4 in baseball.

Plus by that time, Kirby will have far fewer innings thrown and may be the freshest of the bunch. It could come down to match ups a bit. What a great problem to be having!

Kirby too has danced out of a couple of ridiculous jams over the last two or three starts. It's actually been pretty fun to watch.

But if you want us to stay out of the jams in the first place, both he and Gilbert have honestly been outplayed to this point.

And ALL of this with basically no Bryce Miller all season. IF he comes back and is close to his normal self? Dayum.
I think it's easy to forget out how damn good Miller was last year. I don't though. He was a beast.
184 Innings Pitches, 2.94 ERA, 119 K's, 26 BB's
He turns 27 next week. Totally in his prime.

By season's end, I could see our playoff rotation as Gilbert, Woo, Castillo if Gilbert really gets it going. But otherwise, yeah, Woo, Gilbert, Castillo...

Yeah Castillo is out of the playoff rotation. He had a good stretch but he has always felt like he was behind Woo, Gilbert and Kirby.
