And the .109 hitting Refsnyder comes up & shockingly fails in the clutch. Bases loaded, nobody out..... No runs. Again. As usual.
And then when they score and take the lead, nothing positive about it
from you.
I really do get the negativity as a lot of it is warranted but come on, enjoy
this for one day.

Some who are wondering why the Ms do some of the lineups
that can be confusing, they are very heavy on "analytics", it
has not worked out well so far this season but you can bet the
injuries have played a big role in that.
I'm pissed just like all of us but Dan has to follow the system that
they hired people to provide that imfo, if he was fired the next guy
will have to do exactly the same, it's ingrained into each game.
I'd be ok with it provided we have the healthy horses but we don't,
I wish they would allow Dan to really manage and channel his inner
Lou but they aren't going to do it.
I think he will get tired and likely quit if this goes on and I wouldn't
blame him.
The next guy wouldn't do much better unless the slumps and injuries
go away.

Note: Brash is back! LFG!!!!
Maybe they should just hire Ai to be the manager…

Good way to end the series and the homestand. Win seals the series win, but went 2-4 on the home stand. :(

Some offense tonight. Still some missed opportunities and early in the game we kept giving the lead back. A couple of jacks in the 7th did us up nice. Bullpen gives up one run, but still holds on for the W.

First look at the center of our infield of the future. Cole and Colt turned a double play or two and narrowly missed on another. Gonna be fun, eh?

Hancock decent tonight. A full 5 innings and only two runs allowed.

Pareda with his first big league home run. Not bad for a backup catcher. :)

Should have been a sweep, but I'll take 2 of 3 every time. Just win series. Still 7-12 in one run games. A ton of baseball to be played. My confidence is pretty low overall, as is my expectations. But I'll still keep watching and/or listening. Even if they drive me insane. I stick to my opinion of Dan. In way over his head.

The middle of the field will be nice for a long time, Raleigh at catcher, Julio in center, Colt at SS and Cole at 2B. Outside of 1B we can use upgrades everywhere else though (Arozarena has been solid though)

2 months ago everyone wanted Randy gone and he's the only one producing.

Randy is average at best as a defender. Dude can rake though.
Yeah I hate watching him chase after the ball when it rattles around in the corner, I always half expect him to double clutch and drop it trying to find the handle then triple bounce it to the cutoff guy

It’s called a double triple

Indeed.

Randy is leading the team in runs, hits, doubles, stolen bases, batting average, on base %, and WAR. He's second on the team in total bases, slug, and OPS. He's also "on pace" for close to 50 stolen bases.

Despite the average (but still adequate) defensive, Randy's been the best player on the team through 50 games. He'll easily be starting in the all star game if he keeps this up. Can't say that for any other player on the team.

Julio is also having his best ever start. I just wish Randy was better on defense, he takes some ridiculous angles.

I'll eat crow on this. He's having a hell of a year unexpectedly, Julio with a great start too. Ironically, the whole team is experiencing a typical "slow start" despite those two.

Ok, please don't take this as bashing or attacking Julio. That's not my intent at all. You're right that Julio is off to his best start ever at the plate, and he absolutely deserves credit for that. But for whatever reason, people tend to get on Randy over his supposedly poor defense, but the stats that we have to work with don't really back that perception up. He's actually been considerably better than Julio on D this season.

Randy has 0 errors, a fielding % of 1.000, and an outs above average of -1.

Julio has 2 errors, a fielding % of .985, and an outs above average of -4.

I'm just saying that I think people tend to over exaggerate Randy's supposedly poor defense. He's really not as bad as many make him out to be in the field. Personally, I think it's because some have decided they just don't like him, therefore they're looking for reasons to criticize him.

Randy has made several bad plays in the outfield this year. He's probably the team MVP right now, but he is a** in the field.
And if we're talking about because people just don't like him and/or are finding ways to criticize him......come on. NOBODY gets more flack than Julio.
I will never ever ever understand it, but I had to retire from that subject :)

As you say, you're entitled to your opinion that Randy is ass in the field. But I'm also entitled to point out that the facts don't support that opinion. No big deal.

I agree that people tend to hyper criticize Julio, often times pretty unfairly. I think that's because the Mariners try to push the narrative that he's a super star level player with the "J-rod show" and "No Fly Zone" stuff. My personal opinion is that he's a really good player overall, but I don't think he's lived up to the super star hype yet. Hopefully he will.
