I've read reports Russell Wilson scored only 28 while Luck scored a 37. True?

I'd expect him to get a 51.

He was probably studying film rather than studying for the wonderlic.

I wouldn't expect him to get a 51 because that would require cheating on a test that's out of 50.

I don't put too much merit in the Wunderlic, because it doesn't really judge football intelligence. People test differently, but with that said, isn't the number where scouts say a player is high enough to be a QB in the NFL somewhere in the low to mid 20's and anything above that is just a bonus?

Dang, we should have drafted Lindley instead of Wilson.

Give him a test about opposing defenses tendencies or the play book and I bet he's head of the class.

Welp.....Ryan Lindley scored a 35 and we all saw how that helped him on the field.

Ryan Fitzpatrick (Harvard) has the highest Wonderlic score ever for an NFL QB. He's not exactly lighting up the league.

NFL teams are generally looking for at least a 21 on the exam. The rest is gravy.

Here's how Wilson's score measures against the median scores of other professions:

Systems Analyst – 32
Chemist – 31
Electrical Engineer – 30
Engineer – 29
Programmer – 29
Accountant – 28
Executive – 28
Reporter – 28
Teacher – 28
Copywriter – 27
Investment Analyst – 27
Librarian – 27
Electronics technician – 26

Obviously, if you're getting in the upper 20s, you have a high capacity to do a lot of things.

IIRC, Terry Bradshaw scored an 8.

About the same time frame, they tested a post and it scored a 10.

I would tend to agree, within reason...Vince Young scored a 6 on the Wonderlic..He also took out a $300,000 LOAN to throw himself a birthday party...uhhhh

I believe Dan Marino scored in the teens.

He also didn't know to put the laces out on a field goal kick.

True, but not passing the wunderlic isn't what proves his stupidity, his actions do that.

Basically my point is that most (if not all) really stupid people do crappy on the wunderlic, but not all people who do poorly on the wunderlic are stupid.

And to further my point, you can't judge a book by it's cover, or any single word or sentence. You have to take the entirety of the book into account. Players are the same. There are tons of single qualities teams and scouts look for in players, but there is no single one that qualifies you or single one that should disqualify you, it's a sum total. IMO when you sum up the total, the wunderlic is a very small measuring point.
