Like I keep saying about Shaun, if he isn't in, he will be one of the top guys out. If you look at his numbers, guys that score as many TD's as he did are all in. Most of the guys above him on the rushing list are in, and most of the guys below him aren't. But only 13 players in the history of the game have scored more TD's than Shaun Alexander. When you think that the game is based on the final score, and the team with the most points wins, for a guy to be one of the highest scoring players to ever live is fairly significant. He was certainly one of the best at his position during his era. I don't think he'll make it, but maybe he deserves to.

As far as dynamic trios. Manning, Harrison and Edgerrin James on the Colts were pretty damned good.

In the same mold was Warner, Holt, Faulk from the Greatest Show on Turf.

Not quite the same as ours, since both WRs above were true WR and not hybrids like Harvin, but both multipurpose backs combined with great QB play and a dynamic outside weapon created matchup nightmares and racked up historic stats.

Goes to show you, with great QB play, versatile players, and physical mismatches, you can do a lot in this league.

It is a bit of a tough question since you're really kind of only looking for mobile QB's, which weren't nearly as popular until a few years ago. Elway/Humphrey/Johnson comes to mind. McNabb/Westbrook/Owens was really cool to watch. Cunningham/Smith/Carter/Moss.

Probably blasphemy in these parts but Warner/Faulk/Holt was a pretty sick group.

Most definitely a tough, tough question. I just don't think its been done before to an exact match. There has always been great trios in the history of the league, championship groups.

But there hasn't been one quite like the potential Wilson-Harvin-Lynch possess. All three are uniqie, elite football players. All three have MVP potential. I doubt the trio will be as productive as some of those groups listed above and throughout this thread.

However, I'm excited to say that with Harvin getting into the mix, Seahawks are on the verge of a special, dominant grouping of players. A phenomenon of such rarity that it hardly exists in the universe of competitive sports not named baseball. Its the planets aligning and winning the jack pot of awesomeness . Its like the Seahawks Offensive Skills Position Group are the Miami Heat of the NFL.

No D in the NFL wants to face the potential that is Wilson-Harvin-Lynch plus Rice, Tate, Baldwin, Miller, plus Turbin plus the continuous growth of Kearse, Willson, and Michael.

Can you imagine the results if our O-line keeps trending up and finally gets completely healthy, and in sync?

No D would be able to stop this O not even the best D's in NFL history...

I hope Bevell is ready to take advantage of it. That's far from a criticism of him. That's just saying you're right...this is a "once in a lifetime" combination of unique talent that he probably won't see again like this in his career. He should have fun with it now!

Pete and Bevell have been working on Harvin's involvement in the offense since March 12th.

This is going to be a tremendous trio of kick-ass... and all players with that Mighty Mouse complex, always playing bigger than they are.

We are almost guaranteed to see them on the field for 2 and 1/2 years not including any more freak injuries. Wilson will be a lifer. Harvin is under contract for another 4 and 1/2 years. And I expect the Seahawks to honor Lynch's full contract as long as ,he keeps Beast Modin, which doesn't end for the said 2 and 1/2 years.

And I got a feeling Harvin is going help keep Beast Mode fresh by taking some of that pressure his way.

Has there ever been such a dynamic group of players in the NFL as Wilson-Harvin-Lynch?

Dual Threat QB w/ Elite Intangibles
Receiver/Runner/Returner Play-Makin' Dynamo
Runner/Receiver/Blocker Monster Of A Workhorse RB

Its hard to think in my intoxicated state but the best I can even think of is Young-Rice-Watters.

Young is a decent comparison to Wilson. Wilson has that Tarkenton, Young, Staubach thing going for him.

Rice was amazing but I'm not sure if he's as dynamic and versatile as Harvin is. Different play-making styles.

92-94 wasn't the best of Watter's playing years. And while you could argue Watters and Lynch go hand in hand in terms of elite balance and vision, Watters at his peak still could only dream of being as physical imposing as Lynch is today.

I'm sure there are better examples but I don't think there is a team in NFL history with exact Carbon Copies of Wilson, Harvin, and Lynch. And the potential play-making circus of abilities these players have.

I think a rule should be, do not drink and post! Comparing our trio which has never played together with the likes of Young/Rice/Watters or Aikmen/Irvin/Smith (my trio of the best of all time) is beyond the pale. We need to win at least 1 superbowl before any such comparisons can be made --while we haven't even seen our trio on the field. Comparing one of the best QBs ever in Young or Aikmen with Wilson, a 2nd year QB who has won nothing, is really an overreach, yet it may be the best comparison since Wilson is soo good. Harvin with Rice? The undisputed best WR in the history of the game? Harvin with Irvin, another one of the best WR to ever play the game? Beast with a player like Emmit Smith? Not even close.

My point again in the question that I asked " Has there ever been such a dynamic group as Wilson-Harvin-Lynch? " and then my ending statement was "... I don't think their is a team in NFL history with exact Carbon Copies of Wilson, Lynch, and Harvin. And the potential play-making circus of abilities these players have."

Sorry, to have gotten your panties in a bunch for posing a question that really has nothing to do with a comparison of productivity or legacy.

To prove my point:

Give Aikman, Irvin, and Smith the Seahawks O-Line woes, do you believe:

Can Aikman scramble like Wilson, to keep a play alive, or take over a game with his legs?

Could Irvin be versatile enough to play WR and RB plus be one of the most dangerous players in the league with the ball in his hands?

Could Emmitt be as productive with the Seahawks O-Line, against constant 8 men boxes, and lead the league in broken tackles, and yards after contact? This one I can believe in but the point is to come up with the three exact players with abilities like RW and Co. NOT just the three best players of all time and then get all butt hurt about because you think I'm trying to crown our players as the greatest of all time.

Going to be fun when they line up Harvin one on side, Tate on the other, with Lynch in the backfield next to Wilson in read option. That's a scheme nightmare.
