We should bring back that thread from earlier in the year where the OP was comparing his stats to his usage and saying it wasn't worth the money. Then some people didn't really read the post then said that OP was dogging Wilson. But then OP and a couple others used that as a cudgel to ignore all the other valid discussion going on because they lumped them in with the people who didn't read.
The point still stands though; it doesn't matter if Wilson puts up big numbers or not. The reason he makes that money is because he's one of the best at his position. And many teams don't have legitimate starters at that position, so a serviceable quarterback is scarce. Good to great quarterbacks are rare. You're not going to get a huge personnel boost of saving $10-$15 million and going down to Dalton or Foles performance.
Wilson has to put up big numbers right now because the defense is giving up over 25 points per game. But if the defense was good and Wilson put up 180 yards and two TDs and it was a slog and they won, he's still worth it. Dude is a winner. He's not perfect, but on any given day he's just as good if not better than the top QBs in the league.
