Why is Golden so hard to tackle

Re watching the game a couple of punt returns where he slips out of tackles and then on the last drive coming out of the backfield he caught the ball six yards short and breaks two tackles to get the first down. Similar to his td against the bears and Vikings last year.

I think it is because he understands leverage and balance and how to counteract the way the opponent is attempting to tackle him. Some guys just have the knack for it.

Didn't Tate play RB at one time in his football career before coming to Seattle? I thought I heard that somewhere.

He is elusive. Plus, he's getting better at not going negative and losing yards after catches like he did the first season or two he was here.

Big balls. I laughed out loud at that catch and run where Tate slipped one tackle and then flat ran over a kitty near the end of the run. He's my favorite guy to watch in space, bar none. So entertaining.

He doesn't give you his legs and he keeps them moving, he also doesn't body into people so they have a grab, he makes moves before contact and shifts I want to say almost sideways and slanted at the same time. Think of Sanders not given people a solid shot and how he used his footwork when he ran, not as good as Sanders but some of the same elements. Maybe a Wendell Tyler or somewhere in between.

I think he's amazing at anticipating how someone is going to try to tackle him, and like many have stated above he understands leverage and he does not appear to be as difficult to take down as he actually is. I think it was last year there was a video on .com that had helmet capture footage from him in a game, basically, his reaction/anticipation time looked cat like and fluid, I bet he could be an effective boxer.

I enjoy watching him, his determination to avoid getting tackled is awesome. Also remember this is only his 4th season, meaning he is young and can learn even more ways to be elusive.
