I hope it's Roger Goodell. I love that man, and it would be a privilege to have him raise the flag.

Have that Sea-Fence guy do it. And they can even introduce him as "that Sea-Fence guy."

Smart money says that at some point this season Clint Dempsey will raise it. But probably not the home opener.

Good call.

I do get confused though about MLS. Does MLS play while USMNT plays? I mean, does Dempsey just fly back and forth?

They'll usually miss an MLS game or two while they're doing their National team duties. The season goes on without them.

If you really want to fire up a football crowd you need a football person, period. There are several different generations of people with many different interests attending a football game.

Example of why a lot of the suggestions here wouldn't be the best choice if you want everyone involved: I have never heard of Macklemore, I hate soccer so anyone involved in that would make me sleepy, baseball doesn't interest very many people at all anymore, basketball just isn't my sport.

I know you may say that is just me, but there a lot of people who are rabid football fans like myself, who are also in the stadium and just do not care about any of those people. It really does need to be a person from the team who they are rooting for to get everyone, not just one group excited.

Also, having gone to probably 4 to 5 home games every year the last half decade, the loudest I've ever heard the 12s was when the Tuskegee Airman raise it 2 years ago on Veterans Day.

One of the most emotional moments in that stadium, other than a huge win, I've ever experienced.

The tradition of the flag raising is second to none. Hope it's either GP or Coach Holmgren.
