Hansen has said he wouldn't consider doing it until he has succeeded in getting us an NBA team, when asked by Softy.

And maybe a large portion of the fans at games aren't from Seattle as in within the city limits, but I'm pretty sure a large portion of the fans care about Seattle sports in general. I have little doubt Hansen would get one of the better reactions of any of the possible candidates, especially if its after he's secured the return of the Sonics.

All Hawks fans know that this is going to be a special season -- so the person who raises it needs to be someone who represents Seattle and its team's championship aspirations really well. Keep it simple, I think, and pick a Seahawks great - Jones, Largent, or Alexander would do the trick. No to Chris Hansen or some other "suit" type.
Completely disagree, that place would go nuts seeing Hansen in a Hawks jersey raising the flag

I honestly don't think I know a single person who has even heard of Chris Hansen. :Dunno:
Sorry Mr. Hansen, some Seahawks fans and their friends aren't really paying attention to much of anything anymore, we're going to have to cancel your flag raising.

I had never heard of Chris Hansen until I read it here but I don't follow NBA basketball anymore. When I did it was the Blazers since I live closer to Portland than I do Seattle. I didn't even know the Sonics left Seattle until a couple of years after the fact.

Haha, okay. I was just throwing my experience out there. I know who Chris Hansen is, but among the people I know (who are all just casual sports fans at most), none of their knowledge goes beyond knowing that some suit is trying to bring an NBA team to Seattle.

Yikes. :escape:

I'm just saying, I bet there are plenty of people who don't know who just about every 12th man flag raiser is at any given game.

And after Hansen brings back the Sonics, there won't be any question as to who he is and if he's deserving.

Bruce Irvin has nothing better to do that day.

Personally I think about 50% of the crowd wouldn't give a crap about Hansen. Which is pretty much true for all the flag raisers who are not directly Seahawk related.

Disagree. Hansen would get a roaring applause.
I think the CLink would go nuts for Hansen. I know I would. That guy is a legend in Seattle already.
All they'd have to do us announce him as the future Seattle Sonics owner and people would cheer.

I'm cool with Macklemore. He seems to be a big fan of the Hawks. He also participated in the WeDay. Could be cool.

No matter who is going to raise the flag, be sure that I will be pumped for my first game in Seattle!!

Go Hawks

The Big Unit. His attitude in his younger years and the culture the 'hawks have adopted seem to go hand in hand.

Wouldn't be shocked if it was someone close to Coach Carroll, it will be his birthday...

Good points. The Big Unit is tight with the members of Soundgarden and has photographed some of their shows. Maybe he could raise the flag, Cornell could sing the national anthem, and SG could be the halftime entertainment.
