Who is Pat O'Connell?

He looked good yesterday. We suddenly have a surplus at a position that seemed iffy earlier in the season--in addition to Jones, there's Tyrice Knight, Drake Thomas, and now Patrick O'Connell. They've all started, and played well.

On the other hand, I wonder if the defense's issues yesterday had something to do with not having Ernest Jones and Tyrice Knight?

I like these backups, but I think Jones and Knight make that LB corps a lot more solid overall. Good to know we have depth, along with a very good defensive minded coach.

Drake Thomas is a great LB to keep on the roster for anytime we're playing a mobile qb. He's hard to spot, quick, low center of gravity so he's tough to juke. Great QB spy. I also think he'd be a valuable weapon against the niners, shadowing Mcaffrey.

I like Drake Thomas a lot, he plays smart and tackles hard.

Let’s not make any mistake; our best LB is Jones and most valuable piece (the playcaller). Knight is also a starting piece.
