Who deserves the most credit?

Yep its a team game but who or what in your opinion is the biggest factor to this year's so far success?

I voted for Macdonald, because he's in charge and the defense is his doing. But if I could apportion the credit, it would be 50% Macdonald, 30% Kubiak, 20% Darnold and JSN.

This improvement doesn't happen without Darnold and JSN.

It's coach. He has created this winning, buy in environment. He's also taking backups and making them play the best football of their lives.

John's name should be included, without John, Mike wouldn't have been hired, without Mike we wouldn't have the Defense we have, ....just my thoughts here. Can't say who takes credit for JSN, Mike take credit for Darnold as well I believe. If older version of Pete was still here so would be GeNo...think about it....we might even be paying a butt load of cash for Metcalf (ever notice since he departed, JSN has been even better than before...just an opinion nothing more)....without Kubiak...our offense would be still waiting to do something on third downs or trying to score in the red zone. Mike takes credit for Kubiak who takes credit for an improved offense.....so the question is who deserves the most credit...no one...it's a team effort IMHO. (I could have gone on and on but tried to keep this post within reason). For the record this is only my opinion and not necessarily the facts.

MacDonald. He saw what needed to be done, on all three sides of the ball, and went out and did it. Schneider also deserves a lion's share of the credit. After helping to identify the right players, he went out and procured them.

No ding on the players themselves, or other coaches, but MacDonald and Schneider built an entire team plus coaches, that are working together to bring success.

I still maintain the o-line will be league average at the end of the season, but we are going to think they are top 5 because we have lived through so many seasons of bottom five play.

I HATE this topic! "Deserves Credit has destoyed more good teams, and caused great bands to break up, so I hate the subject. After we won the SuperB Owl, it was Kam and Michael Bennett and others pounding their chest, thinking they needed more credit/kudos/money.

I also went other: John Schneider. He's at the top and he moved off proven guys and fan favorites. All of the options are honorable mentions but without JS it would all look completely different.

John for assembly, Mac for knowing what he is doing, firing Grubb, he has to have input on releaseing Geno and DK also as distractions or not being all in. Then bringing in guys between the two of them that fit the system and buy in.

I voted 'other'. All of the points that have been made are good ones. But it has been a team effort. Jody and JS determined that a change in coaching was needed. (I assume it was the two of them. Who knows what happens at the top. Maybe Russ' desire for new coaching finally bore fruit. ) JS (and staff) picked a candidate and successfully brought him on board. Mike and JS put together a coaching staff. They've identified players, both already here and guys they went after, that would buy in to Macdonald's philosophy. None of that happens in a vacuum, it takes every step in the chain.

I will say the one thing that I point to as a change is the accountability. You get on board with coach, or you're gone. Grubb gone after one year. A couple of linebackers and a center, gone during the bye last year. The starting QB and "#1" receiver, gone after the first year. None of them were "all in". All of them are gone, replaced with players who turned out to be surprisingly large improvements. Pete would give second, third, fourth chances ad nauseum. He was trying to build young men (which is commendable). Mike assumes they're men already, and he's building a team. He's actually said that it doesn't upset him when someone makes a mistake but they were making the right kind of effort.

I love the enthusiasm but the concept of who gets credit goes directly against what, IMO, has made the Seahawks great the past couple seasons. Listen to MM pressers. They are selfless. That team from GM to water boy is a united force moving in one direction, oblivious to who is/are the star(s). The direction they are moving is fueled by constant improvement no matter where they are within the NFL landscape. They do not want to settle with where they are. And they shouldn't. How great can they become? Once you start saying "we made it", that sets the bar. And then the determination to improve may become diluted.

However it happened (and it wasn't by accident), one crucial strength of this team is the absence of divas and the presence of selfless, great players. Individuals in that building draw satisfaction from team improvement.

I dint see a choice for "GM to water boy" in the poll so I abstained!!

The culture was desired by JS but established by MacDaddy. They both get a bunch of credit, but JS needed MM for the change, not vice-versa.
