Kirby doesn't have it tonight. Hopefully he can put up 3 more scoreless innings.

I was uneasy that we had a 6 run lead and the next inning they were one swing of the bat away from making it a 1 run game.

Doom and gloom....as usual. Meanwhile, I'm enjoying another ass kicking. I honestly wonder if some of you actually enjoy baseball.

I enjoy it just fine, and have been one of the more optimistic souls of late around here.

I love mariners. Kirby is running out of arm. You didn't see it the last ten times him or Hancock pitched? Inconsistent. Hiting is great. Next inning Kirby is gonna load the bases. Here we go. Ok. Maybe he is doin good.

6 Innings, 2 runs, 9 strikeouts, 2 walks.

I don't know man, that's a pretty solid outing. In what world is that a "Weak outing" from Kirby???

I'm thinking this off-season is the time to trade Kirby while his value is up a tick hopefully. Resign Gilbert, hold on to Woo, and let Miller see if he can get through the whole year healthy next year. You still have Evans who looked pretty decent being limited in his first year of the bigs and Hancock who was up and down but showed an uptick in velo and could be showcased for a trade and the college guy they drafted this year won't take that long to get to the bigs. Get what you can for Kirby, possibly a pretty decent bat...

He had a rough start, but evened out. We were up 7-1 in the 2nd inning, and the next inning they were one good swing of the bat away with the bases loaded from making it a 7-6 or 7-5 game. Then his outing is a totally different story. Such is the finicky nature of baseball.

He gets out of jams.

Again, you're complaining about a guy who just threw another quality start.
6 innings, 2 runs and 9 strikeouts.

Loading the bases doesn't equal shitty start if you get out of it.

Complaining about something that "could have happened"
You could say that about several baseball games. Pitchers get in jams. All the time. Good pitchers get out of jams. Exactly what he did.

I'm not complaining. I'm just giving a factual account of how his "quality" start was one pitch/hit away from not being one.

But it WASN'T. What "could have" happened applies to most games. Pitchers get in jams, ALL of them.

Agree to disagree. Not his most dominant start, but dear god man. You're making it sound like he got rocked.

I'm not making it sound like he got rocked. He ended up okay. Just showing how finicky baseball can be at times, how close a good start can be to a not so good one. That's all.

Fair enough. You said "weak outing" when it was only the 4th inning.

Ironically, Bazardo gives up back to back Jacks.
