Given that the subject below has gotten a lot of talk lately, especially from Danny O'neil, I figured I'd post a subject on it.

If you had the ability to control reality on this one issue, and could choose one of the following outcomes, which would you prefer?

#1: Percy Harvin is not hurt, but is being the "same old Percy" that weaseled out of practices in previous stops.

#2: Percy Harvin is hurt, and (if we are lucky) will have to play with discomfort this season, which will likely reduce his performance level this season to some degree.

Basically, would you rather have a diva who will pull stunts to get out of practices, or a guy who is honest but might have durability problems?

FWIW, I am about as sure as I am on anything that Harvin is being truthful here. The team doctor MRI'd Harvin and saw something there. That plus, why the hell would Harvin WANT to miss practice on his very first day with a championship caliber team? Harvin was so happy that he teared up when he was traded to us. To say that he was stoked to land here would be an understatement.

But anyway, I am just curious what netters think.

Honestly, id rather him fake it. I dont care about his personal life. As long as he delivers come game time and doesn't distract the team. Because eventually with the people on this team. If hes faking...he will learn to straighten up once Russell Wilson, MRob, any leader has a talk with him.

I'd prefer if it was an overreaction by the staff to keep him safe and neither of the above is true., but that's cheating, so option 2 it is. Let's show people that Harvin is a warrior who plays through the pain.

Didn't big Walt bullshit so he didn't have to practice?

I thought our doc cleared him? My understanding is that he wanted a second opinion because the Seahawks doc didn't validate what he was feeling. At any rate, it still boils down to the same thing (in my mind anyway): Percy really thinks he knows the system well enough to believe he can do really well within it, he really doesn't like to practice, he needs a good reason for his teammates to "understand", and all of the above supports the smoke and mirrors chess game that sneaky coaches play. Casting doubt may not really be effective within opposing coaches meeting rooms, but it sure makes for some riveting drama for all of us.

I chose option 1 because I believe primadonnaism is alive and well.

Except they admitted there is a tear. So their is an injury and its not being faked.

And Houston. ITs all speculation. They didnt clear him. They said they didnt recommend surgery. If they cleared him, they wouldnt have put him on PUP and he would have been liable for money losses for not practicing. No one knows who wanted the 2nd opinion. Could easily be the team as well. Being as they are seeing the top specialist on this injury in the entire world, they most likely want to make sure they are making the right call so not to completely injure their expensive investment.

Or it could just be Harvin being Harvin I guess. Put their is a tear, so we cant say hes faking it.

He was at practice, so weaseling out doesn't seem an option. I'm sure he enjoys watching rather than participating.

Whatever is going on, it sure doesn't do much good for our collective blood pressure readings...

Wow 50/50 as I post. Sad to see that people agree with athletes faking injuries to get bench time. My son plays high school ball where if you don't play through these "injuries" it's a given you are on the bench.

As long as he is explosive on the field I don't care about practice. If this harmed the team mentality however, I'd probably have to change my answer to number two. I'm not sure what reality is with Harvin but not concerned yet from what Pete thinks.

I think that he's legit hurt, by the way, but I would prefer it to be #1. I don't care if he wants to get out of practice if it wins a Super Bowl. That's really all I care about. As long as we don't have Aaron Hernandez or Rae Carruth-type dudes on this team that I just can't cheer for, I will put up with petulant crap as long as it wins a title.

I thought this was a poll about potty time. I was going to pick #2 because I get to sit down and read twitter.

Isn't tweeting considered #1?
