I see a lot of fans on here saying they will review and watch tape.

This is a genuine question, Why? Dont you guys have work? a family? friends?
lol, exactly. To each their own, but I don’t understand wasting time watching tape when there’s literally nothing you as a fan can do to change it. I just sort of roll my eyes when fans say that. Rude, I know, but get real.

The thing about Woolen was that it wasn't really disappointing because it's not like it's the first time he's failed. One definition of disappointing is when you expect something and don't get it.

But definition of terms aside, the player with the biggest share of the blame for the loss has to be Riq. He had multiple chances to come to the party and didn't.

That Missed INTERCEPTION oppty was HIS moment....and he blew it.

Had he made the play, we'd be discussing his huge INT in an Ugly Win.

I thought Murphy was pretty disrupitive.

I've thought Charbs should be option 1 since last season. And I think it's evident that that is even more true in this offense.

I don't reallly have an opinion on Darnold. I'm much more concerned about Kubiak.

Riq, dude. Riq. It sucks that it has to be Riq. But Riq. He had two huge mental errors on the game-losing drive. That long pass to Pearsall was so weird. It was like he stuttered or pulled up or thought the ball was closer or something. The "I-forgot-to-holler-shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitttttttttttttttttttttttttttt!" pass by Purdy that scored the go-ahead was a real gift to the Niners. That was a prayer. And Riq answered it.

Kupp is a zone beater at this stage. Not much else.

All Riq had to do here was bat the ball down instead of trying to go for the pick. What a dummy.
It was a 50/50 throw it up ball. The bigger more physical man came down with the ball. Happens all the time and will happen again thru out the league. No amount of name calling will change such outcomes.

No, competent coaching tells you to break the pass up in that situation- not try for the interception. Either he didn’t get the memo or he tried to pad his stats.

I voted Kenneth Walker. 10 for 20 yards rushing, 3 catches for 4 yards or something like that. Not good at all.

There are a couple honorable mentions like Cooper Kupp and Tariq Woolen. I expect those bonehead plays out of Woolen at this point so I didn't vote him.

My biggest disappointment wasn't a player. it was Clint Kubiak. We were promised one type of football and got exactly what we just fired last season. Very mindboggling.

On a positive note you can see the talent on this defense is there and they should just get even better as the year progresses.

I think your clear dislike and anguish with the subject corner back is steering your perspective and preventing appreciation for the play the tight end made. That's half of the game being dismissed.

A practice that diminish fans understanding of the whole of the contest.

To each their own.

Except Riq did exactly what I expected he would do, so the disappointment around Riq is more on the coaches/gm at this point. He is a known quantity, and has been what he is since the dumb ass name change.
Bingo!

Cooper open
Warner trailing the sail route and cooper is cleared out to score but it kinda looks like he is looking for JSN though

He should have knocked it down, PERIOD
He purely misplayed the ball, and if you watch, he’s trying to cover the receiver, and his momentum is taking him backwards towards the receiver while the receiver is moving forward. This pulled his body away from the ball hence the receiver was able to jump in front of him. I don’t agree also with knocking it down because this was not fourth down, and if he thought he can pick it off in the end of the game, it would’ve been the best outcome.

Agree. It’s not “three flies up” or whatever it’s called nowadays. What’s frustrating is that it was picture perfect defense up until the reception. We covered receivers, contained and forced Purdy out and away and left him no option but to make a desperation heave into a crowd of two receivers and three defenders.

If Reek would have disrupted the play, it would have been called a horribly dangerous decision by Purdy.

The hard part is you can compile certain stats to make Riq look above average during the course of a season, but the real ones have the it factor. Hard to describe, but you know it when you see it. It’s the guy that maybe has an uncharacteristic shitty game, but rises to the occasion in high pressure moments.

These dudes live for it and it’s not coachable. I get the feeling that while the great CB’s yearn to have ball thrown at them when the game is on the line, Riq prays they don’t.

Yeah but he said in the presser that he was looking to check it down to Walker.

Riq is the answer

Should not even be allowed to make this poll.

Those that claim Lucas are even dumber (football IQ) than me.

That’s pretty effin dumb.

Facts, nothing personal

Woolen is the obvious choice, he blew the game. But he was already a whipping boy. I went with Darnold. I don't think he looked good at all, even if a lot can be put on Kubiak. What he did do, didn't look good. That has me more long-term worried than Woolen. Just one game I know.. we'll see.
