Hopefully a cap friendly deal as we’ll need to resign Adams just off his locker room presence alone. If he asks for top 5ish corner money we should move on.

Adequate at best and garbage at worst. I don't think he deserves a big payday. A one to two year extension at best, and very cap friendly.

However adequate is good enough for some, and like Byron Maxwell before him, may get a good chunk of change from a desperate team.

$0.00.

Let him walk. He's a defensive liability (yes he had an interception. Doesn't make up for the other awful plays). He's continued to decline. He can't play off coverage. Can't press. He lacks strength, speed, instincts and effort.

At this rate, I'd cut him before the end of the season. But hopefully he turns things around and plays like he's capable of. We saw what he can do last year, and it was much better than this.

I do not want to extend him period. Even though Flowers isn't that great either....I prefer Flowers to Griffin.

I'd trade him right now for a average DE or OLB.

It'll depend on who's available. As I opined before, maybe 7-9M for a year or two. If competition is rough.

I saw Quem's action today and it was good. But Quem himself couldn't stay on the 53 and he's probably going back to PS once other pieces come back.

So like I said, maybe $7M-$9m year with continued improvement from Quill, but no more one for the price of two deals for the sake of "fan favs" that absolutely must stay together as they have since babyhood. Time to just deal with these pieces as separate business pieces--they are--and let the pieces fall or rise accordingly.

If a trade possibility came up now, I'd be all for it, even if it was just for a future 3rd or 4th round draft pick. We need to replace draft picks that we have been trading away.

Santa Clara Hawk echoes my concerns too. I have never liked the whole twins must be together thing, and I think it makes any contract negotiation even more problematical. At this point though, I think we have seen Shaquill's ceiling, and as far as I am concerned it does not deserve a nice contract extension. At times he is not just meh, but is a liability.

I would be happy if we can have him 8 million a year.

He's not elite but he's a good corner. People get so down on him like he's the second coming of Richard Sherman. Look what Allen Lazaed did to Lattimore tonight, or what Gallup did to Ramsey week one and those are elite corners. At least Griffin had a huge pick that was a 7 point swing if not more. Nobody worry though someone will offer way more money then we'll be willing to pay.

And then he'll play better for that team, and we'll all wonder why our DC (or PC himself) couldn't coach him up right, establish the right system, or put him in a position to succeed here.

It'll really depend as to what the relative market is and what Quill does this year. He sucked year 1, improved after that, and then went back to apparently sucking more this year.

But at the same time look at the teams around the league. Ds are generally under par. Teams are getting hit with some brutal injuries there. The 9ers are down to their 3rd string. In the context of Verrett, historically, Quill looks kinda ok. And in the context of 2 linebackers, or 3s, Quem made a good play.

in a normal year, Quill would have to improve somewhat to be worth that 7 to 9, and that's for the short term. If he stays where he is, he's not quite a vet min but maybe a $2-3M/1 year guy. And occasional nice plays usually don't result in contracts. No way any other team is going to take any other player's contract or considerations into any kind of deal.
