Russ has had to deal with more than his fair share of slights (little recognition for the records he broke, no rookie of the year, no MVP, etc) but people saying that Mahomes has shown so far that he is the better QB is not one of them. You can't say Russ was slighted and then not give Mahomes his credit. That is called hypocrisy.

No one has slighted Mahomes though,. No one said he sucks, or he was not good. However, the people who started this made it clear that Mahomes is way better than Wilson and then away we went. The only hypocrisy is by the ones who made that statement about Mahomes being way better than Wilson adn it was nto close.

You are slighting him for not giving him credit for outplaying every QB in the league and saying he has to prove it in a different system. You sound exactly like the talking heads have sounded about Wilson for most of his career.

Non of that says I dont think he is a good qb. It just means, unlike you I want to see more before I annoint him. I also said he was 1 and Wilson 1a but you missed that right? Fyi he is not out playing every other qb this year now is he

The stars may be aligning regardless.

two average games in a row from Mahomes, and now he and half his team are hurt.

Needed a faceplant. Hes at least stumbling.

Let the backpedaling begin...

All i know Russ outshot Mahomes last year during the head2head. Russ is probably the best 4th quarter comeback player of all time. Who would you rather have Mahomes or Wilson in the 4th?

That right there is Mr. Wilson. Wilson. in his 3rd season he had 12 comeback wins and 3 playoff wins. He has had the most comeback since he entered the league. MVP

Only in 21st century america is revising your past thoughts based on present information called backpedaling.

I call that intelligence.

Long season, and the greater point stands. If Magkmes wins MVP it will because he deserves it. If Wilson wins it will be because he deserves it.

No conspiracies.

MVP isn't the same thing as "which QB would you rather have?". One encompasses a lot more than the other.

The problem is only a nieve person believes it is that simple. As to the so called Intelligence, that would be the same Intel you would use to change the narrative when one makes such a finite statement like he is better than wilson or way better or way better than everyone else.

That a side. Mahomea is really good, but he still needs to grow, and learn. He is one of the best QBs in the league. However he is not the best QB or the beat ever or way above everyone else......yet maybe some day.

Yeah Mahomes was annointed by you guys as in another level compared to every qb.

He has great oline, two #1 receivers, top TE, top rb all the weapons he needs to get great stats...Let's see how it plays out with less talent.

MVP is also not who is the best
It has become who had the best season on a winning team.

Ah I did not annoint him, but I get your point.

Agreed, but that's a different issue. It shouldn't be almost purely a QB award either. I'd love to see a beast offensive lineman get into the MVP mix someday. Or even someone like Aaron Donald, who impacts a game as much as anyone in the league.

Mahomes gets 13 points tonight, behind an o-line that was not too good. Or in other words, behind a line that looked similar to what RW has played behind for his whole pro career. He made some good passes, but didn't look like the best QB in the NFL either. This won't tilt the MVP talk towards RW, but it should.

I suspect you will find it will tip the scale towards Russ this week. The NFL media is by nature reactionary.

Mahomes has had back to back average games. Russ has been consistently excellent.

That is getting noticed.

Nope. Even the announcers had excuses, oline. He seemed hurt. Etc.

That OL is among the best in the NFL but sure didn't play like it and that is a credit
towards the Colts defense.
Mahomes in the last 8 quarters?ONE td pass yet you have multiple pages on here saying
he is the greatest qb ever :177692: :34853_doh: MVP? :141847_bnono: The season is
long yet to say that and he needs to play more tough teams that can play defense.
As for all I'm seeing that say he is better than RW?Put the pipe down please!
KC has one of the greatest OC the game has ever seen and the rule changes of recent
years have made his offense that more deadly...They have a great OL,TE,WR's and a
good RB.A good QB with all that in todays game will put up great numbers it's that easy.
The flip side will be when he gets his $200 million(ha ha) and those great players all
around him want their money(sound familiar?)Will you win?Your stats are going down.
I don't think I need to put every detail as to why..
As for the silly RW comps and who is better..Who has been to and won a SB?RW.
Who has won more playoff games?RW.Who has won more NFL games?RW.
Who has Played more games?RW.Who has never missed a game?RW.I can go on
and on but the fact is one season does not make better..The body of work does.I will
I have to see Mahomes a few more years after this to even consider putting him in the
same level as RW..He has to get there and will have to do with less due to cap hits ect.

KC's o line is missing some key pieces, not so sure they are even top 10 at this point.

When was the last time Russ had a top 20 O-Line? He performs at a high level despite what is around him. Mahomes may be hurt so the jury is still out if it is him or the team around him.
