What did you expect this year?

This team is better without Pete. I fully believe that. He wouldn’t be doing any better with the roster he built for his scheme. It’s going to take Macdonald some time and the season is still young.
Mike better win more then 9 games then. That is the bar for Mike since JS and certain fans said PC failed at 9 wins with last years roster and main core being back. Mike better figure out run defense too. Since middle of last year, Mikes run defense has ranked 30th.

Am i overly concerned on Mike? No. He is young and i expect him to adjust and learn. Im never too high or too low right away. I just think its funny the spin job ppl are doing now.

I don’t think that’s totally fair. They also traded away future draft capital because they thought they could win it all last year and they didn’t have a second rounder to use. There is no guarantee Pete wins 9 games this year just because he did the year before. Pete is an all time great but it was time to go. There is a reason there is zero interest around the league in Pete but guys like Bill B are constantly being talked about for openings

"With such a talented roster, if the Seahawks, under new guidance again fail to make the playoffs, there will be a far bigger feeling of "disappointment" around the organization.
Seattle missed the playoffs after being one of the NFC favorites in preseason and Schneider and the front office will no doubt be working tirelessly to make sure history doesn't repeat itself in 2024."

Get over Pete guys. He is gone and he isn't hired by anyone else for a reason. He put out a sub par product for years. Any coach needs time to get their guys on the roster. Our Linebackers are all very sub par and the draft (and free agency) didn't offer any appealing solutions. They made a great Pick in Byron Murphy and need to continue rebuilding our front 7.

He has to say that. They’re always going to say they can make the playoffs and anything less is disappointing.

Oz I completely agree. I expected to see defensive improvement but am continuously disappointed so far. The tackling inconsistency or inability at times is genuinely upsetting.

I also wanted to see more consistency from the O but that too isn't happening either and a potential solid running attack just isn't there. The OLine seems unable to run block and are certainly giving up far too much pressure on Smith.

The critical ST flubs, fumbles, or miscues and as the team penalties are a reflection of a need more intensive coaching intervention.

The special teams stuff is fixable and very frustrating. Personally I would love to see Dee Williams cut. He has no clue what he is doing out there. Half the time he just makes terrible decisions. Surely we could get someone who has better awareness even if they are not as fast. He isn't a game changer on punt or kick returns anyway.
Also getting a blocked field goal is not acceptable. Special teams seems like a very fixable issue to me. The D is a personnel problem unfortunately, especially with Byron Murphy out.

Excuses. Pete had this roster win 9 games. He was fired due to JS thinking this roster was a playoff roster.

Well he was honestly fired because the team was stagnant with no direction. As for JS, I can't argue with you there.

I see excuses rn. Main core is back. 9 wins was done by the old coach.

I expected an 11 win season, but that is my usual preseason positivity. When I saw the mounting injuries I changed my prediction to 9 wins. At 3-3 I think we are still on target for that, but if the team continues the trend of the past 3 games I will hate to have to consider that Vegas might have been closer to correct all along.

Mike doesn't need to win anything. He's rebuilding a team and a culture that lost their ways. It's going to take awhile. He's going to do some roster churning after he's learned what he has when the season's over. It's going to take time and it's going to be hard with as many holes as there are to fill.

His task is to fix a team that Pete broke. The locker room has been lost for years now and nobody was buying in to what Pete was selling anymore. It was well past time for his departure. 9-8 mediocre seasons aren't going to buy it. Look further for the big picture.

I do agree about the spin job. Some were hailing this defense as good (even ranked #1 or something like that after playing a few mediocre to poor teams) and it's not. Thinking about the playoffs and post season was really ambitious. Thinking Super Bowl was just clear insanity.

I originally thought 6 to 8 with a new coach and so forth, but admit to getting caught up with some early success (gee, they might be better than I thought) and changed it to 10. Now i'm back to my original prediction. Lol

Maybe I just missed it, which is entirely possible, but I don't recall people saying that it's going to take years for MM's defense to be any good up until the past couple of weeks.

I mean, ok, he doesn't have "his guys" yet, and apparently that's going to take years, but I would still think that a good defensive minded coach would be able to have these guys playing a little better than absolutely horrible.

Up and down all year. After a promising start, we're getting just that. Team team has a long way to go. Rollercoaster coming. But I'm not gonna' jump ship, ever.

And seems players are upset already 6 games in. Some locker room issues. So, thats not a good look for a 1st yr HC right? Right. And i would hope Mike improves. Im going off fans and JS saying a new coach would get this roster to the playoffs this year. They still might. The issue for me is now i see excuses.

THis year was not a rebuild. If it was a rebuild then ok.

The front office has been clear on this: They are not rebuilding. If Mike doesn't win this season, John will probably be gone or on the hot seat.
