RW averaged less than 200 yards per game last year. Surely, he can bump that average to over 200 power game and we can still maintain a balanced offense.

I agree, It shouldn't be hard to get up over 225 yards/gm (3600) with a few more extended drives, over what we had to start out the year with.

We won't have two 1,000-yard receivers because our special teams unit is too good. We need to fire Chris Maragos and Leon Washington to bump DangeRuss's stats. Damn those 65-yard drives all the time! Real QBs have to do it from the 10-yard line every time!

Everyone is getting too carried away with stats.

"RW SHOULD HAVE 4000 YARDS AND WE SHOULD HAVE MULTIPLE 100 YARD RECEIVERS!"

In 2005 we had the #1 offense and went to the superbowl. We had no 1000 yard receivers and Matt Hasselbeck threw for under 3,500 yards. That was with many long drives that started from inside our 20. I remember this well because we almost seemed better the deeper we got buried because we just drove and ate up the clock.

You can say it's a different game now but neither of the QB's in the superbowl had 4,000 yards and only one player had 1,000 recieving (crabtree) and no other receiver on their roster even had 500 yards.

I would much rather spread it around.

Rice, Miller, Tate, Baldwin.

That should be around 1000 each since Wilson will throw for over 5,000 yards next season...then again, he might start catching his own passes which will lower everyone elses numbers.

Depending on how things shake out offensively, I wouldn't be shocked two 1,000 yard receivers. I'll be more surprised if we don't get at least one.

Anything is possible but remember we are not working on a "pass first" team here. Our goal is run the ball as much as we can.

Hopefully this next year with some continuity on the O Line we will see vast improvement in our running game with both Lynch and Turbin.

So I guess I'm saying I think its very unlikely we will have two thousand yard receivers. Remember Wilson is great at passing the ball around to all his receivers. It takes quite an effort for one receiver to have a thousand yards, let alone two.

I would love to have a team like the late 60s Green Bay Packers that could run the ball on anyone and would keep at it until they showed they could stop them. Which rarely happened. Because of that their passing game was way more effective cause they couldn't "cheat" on run coverages.

The middle 70s stillirs was a lot like that too. Made Terry Bradshaw a world class passer. Yes you can bad mouth him all you like but in that offense he was world class. He doesn't have to be a world class announcer cause he talked the talk when it was necessary in the right place........on the field of play. And if there is one thing that will shut up whiners and cryers about a player its when they win 4 Super Bowls and be the QB of at least one team that is considered the best ever.

We only threw 25 times a game last year which placed us last in the league for attempts. Chances are slim to none unless we start throwing the ball more.

Don't fault Russell Wilson for connecting on deep bombs which lower his # of attempts, and for getting benched halfway through a game we were blowing the opponent out on. ;) He had 13 attempts in 35 minutes of game time against the Cardinals, rofl.

I don't think we will change up much as far as our called run-to-pass ratio but I do believe that RW will (hopefully) have more time in the pocket to throw the ball rather than having to run away from pressure.

So I see us throwing the ball a few more times but only at the cost of Wilson scrambling.

Everyone is getting so caught up in the read-option but I get the feeling that Wilson is going to become more of a Brees-like pocket passer as time goes on, and will become less and less of a runner. Especially since the obvious way you stop the read option is to cream the QB whether or not he has the football.
