But he is the guy you are talking about that will scare opposing Defenses and open up everything up opportunities for everyone else. That's been a proven result since he came into the league.
that he can be. But he isn't a Calvin Johnson or AJ Green type of player

Calvin Johnson and AJ Green are freaks of nature. You know who has these types of players? Just the Lions and Bengals.

The Ravens won a Super Bowl with Boldin and Torrey Smith. You mean to tell me a healthy Harvin and Tate/Rice/Baldwin isn't as good as those two guys? Get out of here.

It's a complicated problem for sure, some of it is line play, some poor separation by the receivers and some of it is scheme and play calling.

I can tell you for sure Arizona is not the team to try and fix these issues. Their defense is solid- they may not have the best pass rush (Campbell might not even play) but Washington will eat up our TEs and Peterson and Mathieu will not make it easy for Rice and Tate. Our defense is gonna have to play a near flawless game in order for us to have a chance to win.

Right now, saying that we are average is being a bit nice actually. I mean anytime we even sniff the redzone, we seem to have to always settle for FGs. We need to start finding ways to get into the endzone when the chance presents itself. I hope we improve when some of our injured guys get back.

As far as Rice bieng doubled alot, today on the first play of the 2nd half, I swear no one was covering him when he lined up. Maybe the safety had him, but he was 15 yards away outside of the tv screen. When I saw them walk to the LOS I was like "what the hell?" the titans are just leaving him wide open? I hope one of u guys that recorded the game could break it down for me.

I loved the first reply (Percy Harvin) because that's exactly what came to mind after reading the initial post.

An average offense? Define average. In terms of playoff caliber teams then yeah, we're an average offense amongst playoff teams. If you mean average league wide, then I point to our 11th overall ranking in total offense. That isn't to say the offensive line hasn't had its share of - how do I say, "inconsistencies" - but average? I don't believe it, too many potential playmakers. The Cardinals have an "average" offense.

I truly believe that Percy Harvin will give us the deep threat we're lacking. I mean just watch one of his highlight reels on youtube and tell me this guy isn't a gamebreaker. He's almost as hard to bring down as Lynch and defenses will take him into account, effectively making our play action even more formidable and unpredictable. I mean how do you key on Lynch, Wilson, and Harvin at once.

His injury status isn't encouraging but I don't pretend to be Nostradamus when I predict that he will be a major factor upon his return (or should I say arrival).
I'm sure all of this has been said before anyway, so on that note: GO HAWKS!

Most of us have been fans long enough to have at least witnessed one or two fanbases that eagerly awaited the return of X, who was the magical mystical element that would fix all the issues with struggling.

What generally happens is that the player returns but the impact is less than most of the fans expected.

Nothing wrong with hope though.

I agree. I think that there's more to the issue than just injuries.

Right now, I see our offense as decent because of RW's play-making abilities. I mean...it's almost unbelievable how often he can turn immediate pressure into a positive gain. If Harvin and the O-line can return and the unit stays relatively healthy, I see a small improvement.

We are the 9th best offense per FO. That's good enough for me. That's seriously not average.

I'll take an offense that's #9 in scoring, #10 in total offensive yards per game, and #2 in rushing yards per game. That's without our biggest FA acquisition and a decimated O-line. How anyone can think that is average is beyond me.

Russell Wilson is one of the top 3 most pressured QBs. Lest you forget we're short two starting OTs and just got Unger back. Let them get healthy. Football starts at the LOS.

Why?

Why must that always be the excuse? Injuries happen to all teams, all teams deal with missing players. At some point these people have to play and play well.

Because there's a difference between 1 guy being out and a unit being decimated.

I'm not saying there isn't room for improvement other places, but it does make sense to see what transpires when the core of the entire offense, running and passing, is intact.
Still an excuse.

The Packers won the superbowl with 9 guys on IR.

And did so with a 10-6 regular season record that had lots of ugly in it.

I'm tired of the baseless rice bashing. I know he had the (dumb) fumble yesterday, I know he hasn't gotten a ton of catches but the over reaction here is silly.

Rice is fine, The problem is the pass protection.

Seems to me, we're 5-1 and yet people are still unsatisfied. Last year we lost games like yesterday's, and against Houston, this year we're finding ways to win. I didn't see where the offense struggled all that much yesterday, other than the fumbles and fluke FG for a td. We dominated a weaker team in every catagory, what more do you want? we don't have a DEN or NO offense, neither of those teams has a defense like ours. we're a more balanced team than them.. We may win ugly, but we're winning. Could it be better, yes and i think when we start getting some of our starters back it will be. We started like this last year and kicked it into high gear in the latter part of the season. JMO

Yep and I will take that with 9 guys on IR. We arnt at that point.
Of course we aren't. We are 5-1 with almost nobody hurt long term. We have an inside track on home field at the moment.

Bowie improved. Sweezy only screwed up a couple of times. MCQ was OK. Willson had good plays. The defensive line was mostly good, with some mistakes that I totally expect considering how little play time they have together.

Things are happening right now that will benefit this team for the playoffs, and for years to come.

Week in and week out, except Jax, we have faced very good defenses, and in more than 4 games are without key members of the line.

Rice is a bust?......Dude the catch he made was sick, and allowed us to SCORE. Yeah, he fumbled trying to get more yards but it was inconsequential.

Without that catch, we don't score. And without RW throwing him the ball (2) yesterday, why is he a bust. Please explain these points.
