I can't argue against us being #2 because our offense is still screwing around jerking itself, and our play calling has been uninspired, to be polite.
I think Denver is overrated, though. They have faced no real competition, and saying "We beat the reigning Super Bowl champion" doesn't mean much since the Ravens are being very hot and cold right now and not looking like competition to most teams right now.
You might say I'm way more against Denver being #1 than I am against the Seahawks being #2, lol. They should have 1a and 1b, then jump to #3.
This is how I feel in a nutshell. I don't necessarily see us as undoubtedly the best team in the league, not with our offense being rather suspect at this time...BUT, that feeling kinda' changes when I see who it is that's anointed #1.
Manning could take Jax to the play offs. He is a machine, arguably the best ever. But as you mention, Roland...who has really tested Manning and the Broncs? I don't want to use the small sample size we saw in the pre-season, but it's all we have. I think Manning plays to many of our strengths. My only concern is our apparent inability to take away the TEs. But that can be said about most teams.
In the end, I am way comfortable with Denver being #1. I actually like it and believe it benefits us. We'll continue to do our thing and I sincerely wish for the Broncs success. That will be the match-up everyone wants to see. So, may the best team win.
