I don't know man - I'm not sure we'll even make the playoffs. JS is scaring me, not signing free agents and losing all of our stars. We paid too much for Rashid, let K9 go cheap, signed a few injury-prone guys and proven failures. On top of all that, I'm not even sure my jersey collection will cover our home games - if we lose D.K. Metcalfe and Geno I'm completely screwed.

Almost forgot, Darnold still hasn't proven he can win the big game when the other team is really great, or when we aren't (did I get that right?)

(Am I in the correct thread?!?)

This is honestly one of the best topics ever on any Seahawks forum. This coach, GM, team, regime, etc, etc. That's why. It's honestly incredible and special. Hard to repeat this day in age with FA and our tough division. But, this team, this coaching staff, etc, etc, etc... they actually may have over achieved this season and still won the Super Bowl. Lookout. John Schneider is just beginning to get the recognition he has long deserved and we have this head coach, staff, roster and culture? Best chance to repeat for this franchise and gotta be one of the best chances when entire league is considered. NFC West is best division in football and the Rams and 49ers know that the Seahawks are legit.

We'll have to see after the first 4-6 weeks what teams seem to be separating from the rest. But, the Seahawks should be a strong contender early and throughout the season. Kudos and respect to other clubs that also know what the hell they are doing. Especially our hated division foes.

My only real concern is the DL guys are a lot of vets who had career years. It's hard for me to expect they'll be quite as dominant next year.
It’s a legit point that the Dline as a potential reason we decline next year, but probably not a significant decline. In 2 years it’s a major concern. Assuming DLaw plays 2026, the all of the sudden need to plan for Reed/DLaw/Cat all having 1-3 years left (likely). They can address it through the draft and FA, and hopefully Pili grows into a decent starter.

Our young team shows it’s age in the D trenches.

Loss of K9 will be bigger than most people think. I said it back early November that we needed to re-sign him. He and Charbs were great compliments to each other, but make no mistake, K9 helped us sustain many drives. Yes he got a big contract but at the very least, I think the Seahawk should’ve franchised him for $14 million this year.

As a USA Boxing Coach, it's all about coaching. Do you think you would make the Olympics in your preferred sport right now? No. You would need conditioning and the best Coach in the world....but you could make it.

MM is the difference. As Holmgren said "The game has passed me by". You need a. Coach who is on the for front, and MM is him.

MM is why the Seahawks has the potential to be a dynasty.

Watching all the highlights from last season and what really jumps off the screen is how dominant K9 was at the end. It wasn't all blockage either. He juked guys out of their shorts a couple of very key times. He gets caught and we punt. Those runs! the big BooCheer run he had against the Rams on Th night. A similar one against the 9ers. Those amazing plays helped us win. Plus the two jukes against the Rams in the NFCCG. Just incredible. He certainly wasn't that awesome before last year, other than a good rookie year. I was done with him dancing around behind the line. That's my one worry.

Best part is while LOB relied on superior athletes, this defense relies on MM’s ability to maximize each individuals potential when operating as a cohesive unit. To the extent of even making use of those that clearly do not even fit… exhibit 1a is Woolen.
Cohesive is the key word when talking about MM's defensive mindset.
That's why there seems to be very little drop-off when a player is substituted in, and of course it doesn't hurt that these guys are playing their hearts out for EACH OTHER.

I for one am expecting no drop-off on the DL players, and in fact I'm hedging my bet on seeing guys like Byron Murphy, Reily Mills & and a couple of other young guns taking their play to the next level.

K9KC
3 yr 43M. 28M guaranteed.13M signing. 14.3M avg.

Emanuel Wilson 2.1M
Charbs 2.2M
McIntosh 1.2M
Holani 1.1M
New rookie 1M

7.6M for five RB's or 14.3M for one.
To those who continue to languish for K9 I say pay close attention to the Seahawks run-game vs the KC running game this season.
Then note who makes it further in the playoffs.
John played his cards right.

Is anyone else super excited to see what RB's John fields this season?

With good enough blocking you or I could run for 10 yards at a time.

Settle the eff down Ghost Rider
So pemedic, where is this blocking you can drive a Minibus through with no mudflaps and get 10 yards a pop in the Seahawks offense, that means needing 5 olinemen, two TE's or blocking WR and or a FB. If you don't have all 9 of those then maybe a really good RB that makes up for lacking some of those is cheaper and easier to get in one off season.

Emanuel Wilson’s stats if given the same opportunity as k9 in would look better, otherwise with less his stats are on par with Walkers. Which is impressive. I think we’ll be fine and kickass this year
