We got DK, Lockett and Freddie Swain

As our top 3 options but who do you guys like in the slot or as that 4th option at receiver? I like Eskridge but Bo Melton played in the Big 10 against elite competition and can fly. Should be interesting to how it plays out in camp

I hope Eskridge can stay healthy. In his super small sample size of 2021, he had 6 first downs and a touchdown with 14 touches. That is insane productivity.

Assuming health, I think Eskridge might beat out Swain. Same goes for Melton.

Swain doesn't seem to do much unless it's broken coverage. The #3 receiving option I would like to see emerge is Fant. He fancies himself as a receiving TE and not a blocking one, so we'll see how he fits in this new offense.

The competition at WR this offseason will be quite intense for the 5 or 6 roster spots. We should not sleep on WR- Dareke Young who is big and fast and has good hands as well. There is pretty long list of potential candidates for the jobs.

There is also a quietly strong group at TE now featuring Fant, Dissly, and Parkinson.

Added to a potentially strong group of RBs the QB that wins the starter's job should at least have some genuine options.

Fant is that big and freaky soft handed tight end that we've coveted for some time. Granted we haven't used the tight end as much as I like in the past being hamstrung by Russ and his height but I'm looking forward to seeing chunks of yardage over the middle with Fant and Dissly and Parkinson

I'm not convinced that Swain's production is a result of his ability to get open. Targets matter, and if Russ rarely threw to him, it matters not how open he was, how crisply his route was run, or what kind of YAC he could have had. WR stats are so dependent on QB targeting, it's more a matter of what the receiver made out of what was given.

sdog's post above suggests this is the case with Eskridge.

I've heard a couple of people say they think Melton is a better player than Eskridge. I think they're both better than Swain.

Melton can play special teams, too, which is huge for Pete.
