It's not just us, scoring is up significantly around the league. Maybe the lack of crowd noise is allowing offenses to communicate better and thus contributes to the higher scores for us and around the league.

I know sometimes our own offense is affected at home games, as used to it as they are, and even with our "smart" fans the decibel level is fairly high, even when our offense is on the field. The league is setting the max level for piped in crowd noise at 77dB, which for us is like halftime or something.

It has to be something. :snack:

Easy to communicate and have snap counts. Dlines can't have the quick jumps off the line.

When teams go silent count because of crowd, Tackles have to even watch the ball. Giving the dline huge advantages.

It's almost like 7 on 7 out there at times.

That's a very valid hypothesis Sutz. I think you're right.

Our defense (although the worst statistically right now) isn't the only one struggling this year

Defense is bad all over the NFL right now. Everything is a problem right now, it appears that defensive players need the preseason more than offensive players.
