Red Bryant totally captured the essence of what made that era of Seahawks football great, AND, he *personified* it in his day. IIRC, Carroll (Quinn) moved Red to a different unfamiliar position, that, on paper, didn't seem to fit his skills, left many people scratching their heads. "During the 2010 offseason, (Bryant) was moved to defensive end by head coach
Pete Carroll." (Seattle P-I Aug 2, 2010) Bryant was the defensive team captain during the 2012–13 seasons, including that 2013 #1 ranked defense that won SB48.
On a personal note, Bryant married Jacob Green's daughter, who was a college soccer player, and Carroll/Schneider have already negotiated NFL Futures contracts for any male offspring that union may produce. ;-)
