Their secondary is still terrible, that's the place I hope we start.

On defense, we need to not let Newton outside and stop the run game.

That was a pretty funny article.

"It's gonna be yet another year of forcing the ball into triple coverage in the hopes that Steve Smith will punch enough people in the face to have room to catch it."

Love the comments:

David:

I once went to a Hooters in North Carolina during Panthers game. No screens showing it. No Panthers jerseys either. All Redskins.

 That's just sad.

although I fully expect SEA to win in CAR, Cam Newton is a hard player to predict... He could absolutely implode or he could totally light it up... where as the Seahawks will be consistent with both offense and defense.

Yeah, he is hit or miss. Way too cocky for my taste, and that whole Superman thing is beyond lame. He has a lot of talent, and physical skills etc. Just don't see him as a true leader. Game should be close regardless, home opener, 10am, revenge on their minds, getting up for playing a contender etc.

Truth. If he would have thrown a better pass in the end zone at the end of our game there last season, that would have been an "L" for us. He had a tight end wide open and threw it at his feet.

I'm trying to get tickets to this game since I'm stationed at Camp Lejeune. I missed out on last year with any luck I'll be at this one rocking my #25 jersey. :D

His Jacksonville segment was even more of a howler. Oh, how glad I am that we're not one of those teams locked into permanent suck by a retarded owner who won't sell until he's 110.

Are those two thoughts disconnected? Khan seems like he's at least moderately interested in the Jaguars fate, even if it's just to get them good enough to move to England.

What cracks me up are those emails to the club. So much angst. Love it.

To take the time to sit down and write a hate-letter to the team's front office means there are some seriously disappointed taxpayers in Charlotte.

I just rewatched the game from last season. The Hawks dismantled that squad and the final score wasn't even remotely indicative of how competitive it was. After a bunch of hang-wringing over the offseason and building Carolina up, I'm now thoroughly convinced we will beat them. For anyone who has access to the old games, I highly recommend watching, you'll feel much better.

Big take aways - Cam wasn't as pissy and pouty as I recall. Instead he seemed resigned and checked-out.

Sherm did an incredible job of frustrating Steve Smith and getting so far out of his game he wasn't even thinking about catching balls.

Russell Wilson would improve by leaps and bounds by the end of the season. Our offense was ranked nearly last in the league and redzone efficiency was dead last (17% TDs if I recall correctly). Going into the San Fran game they were riding a 24 red zone conversion hot streak.

I'm not sweating it.

Wilson also threw a pick six...and we gave them 2 points on the safety when Ryan intentionally ran out of the end zone at the end of the game.

So...the Panthers offense scored 3 points.

The biggest issue isn't the team we're playing, it's the fact we're playing an early game on the road to open the season. That's always a big advantage to the home team, especially with our track record. I know we're a different team, but going across the country for an early game to start your season is a tall order. Our O needs to prove that they aren't going to be a 2nd half team anymore and get out early, otherwise it will be a hell of a tough win.

The only reason people go to Panthers games are because they finally get to see their favorite team in person and that team is never ever ever ever the Panthers—it's always the visiting team.

I loved that one...

I'd imagine that all of the 10:00AM practice times have got to help a little bit with that...
