'no fan wants to acknowledge' that?

No, many have talked how much better he has been playing.

I don't care what went wrong with him the past 12 games or so, or how many crows I have to eat; I am for Tre Flower. A good Tre Flowers is key to going deep in playoffs.

And here I thought Dunbar's total ineptitude and the fact we haven't played a top 15 QB in 5 weeks was just making him look better. :?:

Most of us would rather be wrong about a player being bad and have that player succeed for the Seahawks. Just because we think a player was a horrible draft pick, a bad FA signing or has had some horrible games doesn’t mean we don’t want them to help the team. As horrible of a pick Penny was I would rather be proven wrong (but I won’t be :D )

Don't fall for it, he might be challenged two more games at most before the playoffs start. If he can do it in January, then let's roll out the crow buffet.

It did catch my attention that rather than play way off and allowing the easy first down completion in front of him, he "played the sticks" and came up and made a tackle on third down to keep the receiver short. He can give up those completions on third down all day as long as he makes that tackle. I think it was the next play that KJ knocked down the 4th down pass.

But that's pretty much the problem with how sports/social media analyzes sports today.

I think there's a difference between saying someone is struggling, and that someone is trash/a waste of a pick, etc.

Penny has been a good contributor for a 1st round pick. So you are, indeed wrong. The numbers prove you are wrong.

The amount of first round picks that actually become stars, is also low. Which makes most of the fan hysteria sound silly.

And Tre Flowers was a late round pick who was raw. Instead of throwing him in the trash, the coaches continued to focus on development. That is, and should continue to be a thing. Especially in today's NFL where QBs get paid top dollar. This is why as much as Pete can frustrate me, I admire his loyalty and dedication to developing talent and coaches. Instead of running through players and coordinators like historically bad franchises. I'm glad for example, he didn't fire KNJ. That can fracture a locker room and the team's culture in the middle of the season. Hysterical fans didn't understand that. Instead of just replacing something, it's okay to grind, work, and grow the talent you already have

I hope to continue to be wrong about the guy. He still makes me nervous, but a whole lot less than before
He clearly is playing better, I'm not ready to hand over the "he's a real solid corner" tag yet, but keep proving me wrong Tre.

If there isn't a thread about him after a game and what he didn't do he is getting better. Also have to consider the competition at WR from week to week lining up against him.

Good point. I was talking to a friend about the fact that we are NOT talking about Flowers lately. That's a good thing.

Good for him. Six weeks ago, I wouldn't have cared if he had been flat out cut. Glad he might be re-discovering the form that made him once look like a promising rookie.

I am just here to say I told the net so. Apparently I'm a flowers fanatic. When I was trying to pound home a point.

Flowers hasnt changed anything. Been playing the same for three years now. Even this last week fans were upset he gave up a quick slant playing off coverage.

He has still only given up one td this year. That is your best corner Seahawks fans.

Pete and John: Flower needed replacing, just that the replacement wasn't noticeably better or can healthy enough to stay on the field.

In addition to returning to the right he’s been playing with much smaller cushions, which of course may be directly related to getting back to his natural position. He’s been playing tighter and NOT getting toasted doing it.

His effort vs the cards was one any NFL corner would have been proud to call their own. That wasn’t crappy competition that was a red hot team. He missed a couple tackles but to me who cares, his coverage was nearly flawless against a great receiver.
