Who are you trading him for? You cant roll with just the CB we have on the roster without Woolen. We would have to replace him. And that won’t be easy now. If we wanted to trade him, should have pulled that trigger on draft day. Now it’s to late, unless you want to just hope no one gets hurt.

And his game is nothing like Richard Sherman. Sherman was an average athlete that made up for a lot through physicality. Riq is an elite athlete that can shadow anyone cleanly. The difference is that Sherman's game wouldn't make it in the NFL today, while Riq can be a shutdown corner.

He will NEVER be close to the player Sherm was. He's a very good corner, most of the time. Sherm was a great corner. And Riq can shadow anyone? Not sure about that. Jefferson, Chase....guys like that would light him up.

If imma blame Riq for the lack of effort and taking plays off.. I attribute that to the former “leadership” that was on this team. Aka Diggs. I still vaguely remember a game where the opposing team was on the 1 yrd and they went to run it in. Diggs and Woolen were supposed to be blocking and instead they went through the “motions” but on replay they didn’t care and didn’t try at all to stop the guy.. who scored on those two.
I feel, imo dudes like Diggs, WHO DEFINITELY took plays off and gave up mid play often times, got in Riqs head. Diggs was that “leader” on defense. And when he wasn’t on the field the defense stepped up more often and did better without him than with. Riqs college reels show a kid who WAS a dawg. Who was there every play. Diggs just ruined it as well as other vets who gave up. I feel that’s why coach Macdonald also hasn’t given up. He’s seen the potential riq has. And if I’m being honest I think Coach Macdonald CAN coach Riq up unlock PC. PC over the years went from putting players where they can succeed to sticking a square peg in a round hole. Hence the decline when we’d get these really talented players or draft picks and they’d be good their first yr than immediately fall off a cliff. Coaching

Good points. Diggs got his money and seemed to not care at times. Out of position, often. Love is SO much better.
