Pete Carroll has never been good at the chess-playing time management decisions to end a half, and a game. Mike Holmgren wasn't very good at that either. Perhaps the Hawks should hire a consultant to help with this kind of strategy. If we had taken 20 seconds off the clock before scoring, things would have been different.

On the other hand, it may be that our rookie wunderkind QB will be taking over those decisions in the future. If that's the case, we should be in good hands.

We spent that entire drive eating up the clock. We got too close to start getting cute and taking chances cutting time short for ourselves too.

This is the dumbest thing I've read all day.

Let me get this straight. Instead of trying to score the go ahead TD with 30 seconds left, you would have preferred Russell take a knee and run the clock down, which would have forced us to only have ONE shot at scoring that TD.........as opposed to 2-3 shots?

Brilliant!

This may be off topic, but at the end of the 3rd quarter didn't Miller run out of bounds with 9 seconds or so left. The clock ran down and then there was that weirdly placed kids' ceremony. Between that and the refs shuffling to waste time at the end of the half that the refs needed time management specialists more than Pete Carroll. RW faced that same situation in his 2012 Rose Bowl appearance, so maybe there is something to say about his time management as well.

Anyway, plenty of things to learn and grow from. We are young and a hell of a team, it feels good to be nitpicky and not argue who our quarterback will be next year.

Oh boy. The Defensive Scheme let Atlanta march 40 plus yards in two plays for a field goal. End of story.

On a side note Atlanta made at least 4 AMAZING catches in that game to set them up for this win. We came back strong. It wasn't enough.

And that ceremony at the end of the third was a joke! WHO DOES THAT?! We were on a drive to score. Luckily we did. But it halted the game! The NFL needs to get their crap straightened out!

Here is a thought. Could we have thrown a challange flag on the fumble? If we got it wrong it would have been an automatic clock run off right?

Can't challenge within two minutes of a half.

1. You can't throw a challenge flag inside 2 mins

2. Challenging a score is a 15 yard penalty since it's an automatic review

We ran inside zone, aside from taking a knee thats about as plain of a play as we have. It comes down to our defense doing their stinking job and not allowing the other team to score in 30 seconds.

clock management was an issue for me too.... never seems to be a sense of urgency in those situations... not say to run the clock down at the end of the game, but the first half fiasco was ridiculous... should have never been in a position to take the sack and run out of time..

Clock management and other very questionable decisions in this game has me wondering if Pete would make a better GM than a gameday coach. There is no question that he is amazing at talent identification, but some of his in-game decisions yesterday were just brutal.

That's on Wilson, but in his defense the rusher came from his blind side so he never even saw him until it was too late.

It's easy to hindsight the fact that we could have used those three points at the end of the game. But we've been great at 4th and 1 all year, I think 6 out of 7 converted.........and the way Atlanta was playing we NEEDED a TD to stay close.

If I have a choice between whether I want my coach to have the balls to go for it or play it safe, I'll take the aggressive play calling every time. We've gone too long with the play it safe coaches and play calling.

Next time Russ will spike the ball instead of taking the sack. I can see Hass doing it in my head, RW's a rookie and I'm not even about to complain about his performance.
