They were manhandled in the 2nd half by the Bears and likely lose were it not for Caleb botching clock management at the end.

Goff isnt great under pressure. When he had all day to throw, he was good, but he also tossed what should have been an INt in the endzone and had another bounce off of a defenders hands.

My dream end to this season is for us to go on a run and ultimatley meet them in the playoffs.

We could have beaten them, and the current Hawks would have beaten them. That said, ALL team, ALL players could have an off day.
They didnt look 'off' though. They were effective in the first half and then just had drives come up empty in the 2nd.

If teams hadnt exploited their defense a few times already this year, i'd agree that they just had a bad day. But their pass D is vulnerable and their pass rush isnt the same now with Hutch out.

No team is unbeatable. No team is unbeatable by any other team. These are all capable pro athletes.

All true, you nailed it again. That said, I like our chances if we play again.

They would have lost to us earlier this year if Geno hadn't kept going braindead in the red zone in the second half.

They'll Lions it up in the playoffs again. The football gods are just teasing the fans first.

This was a classic example of dominating in the first half and becoming complacent after halftime. It happens when the teams ego starts to grow to be honest. I'll bet you they won't do that again lol.
It happens when your dominant first half produces field goals instead of TDs

Imo they are pretenders...they could end up in the super bowl but definitely not winning. Curse of the small market just happy to be there.

The Lions are for real you can't judge them by just one game.

The have a point differential of 180, the Bills have the 2nd highest at 106. They are winning games comfortably most of the time where the like of the Chiefs are getting "lucky" wins like the Lions did against the Bears nearly every week, that run can't last forever.

The Lions are the best team in football at the moment, that is not to say they will win the superbowl, anytihng can hapen in an individual game but I believe they are more likely to win it than anyone else unless the NFL really does tell the zebras they need a KC win to keep the Swifties watching.

What is this 9-1 thing? They are on a ten game winning streak. 11-1 friends…. And who knows what can happen when you got the ball down three at the opponents 25 yard line and it’s 1st and ten with 45 seconds left….

FFS.. Have no idea where 9-1 came from..What makes a team great is the adversity they go through.. all the great teams have had them, Seahawks, the 17-0 Dolphins and others. They find away to win.

They are a very good team. And have still flourished through adversity with multiple injuries as good teams do. I enjoy watching their style of play reminds me of a team we once had. I hope they do well the rest of the year and into the playoffs, if we get lucky enough to somehow play them again I hope we can win that game but if not I will root for them for the whole thing!

The Lions are the Oregon Ducks.

They are great during the season - world beating almost - but will always gag when the stakes are highest.

That will be the case this year well. They probably beat UW - but no way the beat Ohio State on a neutral field. Let alone Texas or Tennessee or the like. They simply are not good enough.

Agree.

Im not buying that they just had a bad game.

The issue with Detroit is they have grown accustomed to scoring a lot of points behind a stellat O line, and they have shown that they struggle to get pressure consistently on defense.

There have been a few times when their defense has been exposed this year... we walked all over them with a backup T, the Texans lit them up before falling apart. Minnesota put points on them before falling apart.

Theyve gotten fat off of beating really bad teams with bad offenses and or bad qbs:

The hapless Cowboys before they found themselves

The Titans

The Jags

And the Colts

Thats 4 games that account for 140 points of their point differential.

Theyve beat up some pretty poor teams when they've been able to stand behind their o line and let Goff operate.

But when theyve been smacked in the mouth, they havent been nearly as impressive.

The Bears figured them out in the 2nd half yesterday.

The Rams gave them a game without their top Wrs.

Minnesota gave the win away.

The Texans SHOULD have beat them but gave the game away.

With the excpetiom of our game and the Pack - before the Pack got going, they have won a bunch of 1 score games. And in all of those one score games, they could have easily lost.

The formula is their to beat them.
