NFC QBs (starting or injured):

Stafford
Cutler/McCown
Rodgers/Tolzien
Vikings (all stink)

Wilson
Kaep
Palmer
Bradford/Clemens

Manning
RGIII
Foles/Vick
Romo

Ryan
Newton
Brees
Glennon
Thanks for laying it out like this. Out of anyone on that list, the only guys I could put ahead of Wilson are Brees and Rodgers, so I guess I agree with OP. A lot of the previously good NFC QB's have had very inconsistent seasons thus far.

Brock Huard said on Dori Monson today that he truly thinks Wilson is among the top 5 qb's on the planet right now. And I trust Brock's opinion for obvious reasons.

I agree with that. Rodgers is unquestionably #1. Statistically for his Career he is the #1 QB OF ALL TIME. He has a Career QB rating of 105 and in his 6 years starting has only been under 100 QB rating once, which was his first year as a Starter. #2 ALL TIME for QB rating is Steve Young with 96.8. If that Defense wasnt GOD AWFUL he prob would have another ring or two. How your offense scores 40+ and 50+ in 2 seperate games in the playoffs and you lose both times is beyond me haha

Brees is just overall solid and because of how long he has been playing at this level you just have to give him #2. The offense also runs through him alot more and they are more of a passing offense.

Wilson I would put at #3. IMO Romo would be #3 but because he lacks Clutch and turns the ball over at the WORST times he drops on my list. For his Career Romo has a 95.9 QB rating and is tied with Brady and .9 behind Manning. He is top 5 all time in QB rating.

Wilson, so far in his short Career is #2 ALL TIME in QB rating and assuming he wins 2 more games will have won more games than any other QB the first 2 years.

There's not a QB in the league that suits our team better then Russell Wilson and that's all that matters.

Top 3 in the NFC... absolutely. I'd slot Russ behind Brees and Rodgers if all are healthy.

Top 3 in the NFL? No. Not yet anyway. In another year or two I think it's a valid statement. Peyton, Brady, Brees, Rodgers are all above Russ right now (by no means is this an insult) IMO and Andrew Luck is right on par with him.

But I agree 110% with this: "There's not a QB in the league that suits our team better then Russell Wilson and that's all that matters."

Wilson is only in his second season. His upside is still being defined. He could be in the upper tier all by himself in a few years.

Best in the league, no I'm not kidding and I won't listen to your "reason", he's the best QB.

He also cited some stats about Russell being the most effective down-field passer this year (completed passes more than 20 yards past the LOS?).

Anyone recall that?... or have a source for the data?

TIA.

If my memory serves me correct, the stat they showed during the game was the following:

50% of RW completions are for 20+ yards, which leads the league.

Yep, that was it.

Russell and Bree's are the two best. AR is a hall of famer but i believe russell possess more qualities that will make him a more elite QB. Im loving being a part of this history with russell from the beginning

If you want to rank potential of the next generation, then it's Wilson and Luck way WAY out in front (with maybe Wilson having a slight lead in my homer opinion). However, as far as right now, Wilson and Luck are back on the second tier. Top tier for the league is still Manning, Brees, Rodgers and (current terrible season notwithstanding) Brady.

There are two aspects, skills and leadership and being an example to your team and community. If RW is graded on skills, we won't know until there is no Run game. But I think he is in the top 5 in the NFL. But if you want to assess based on what he brings to the organization, locker room, community, fans and all the excitement, he is number 1.

He's definitely up there, and its certainly arguable where to place him. Personally tho, I'd rather have Wilson over anybody over the 'long run'. He's a stud in his second year, and is only striving day in and day out to improve his craft. He's got the mentality of an elite, and its only a matter of time before he gets there(if he isnt already there).

Statistically he has been top 3-5 since entering the league especially factoring in what he has had to overcome this year with injuries. I have him 4th behind Manning, Brees, Rodgers. He has outplayed Brady, Stafford, Luck, RG3, Kaep etc.

Yeah I think Brees and Rodgers are the only 2 guys he was thinking above Russell.
Pete has let Wilson take up a lot more slack in the Offensive scheme this Season, but he still likes the running game to dictate.
RW isn't playing for teams that are anywhere near as pass happy as Rodgers, or Breese, and although Wilson is still improving, he's more than holding his own.
10 & 1 = Top 3 indeed..........for now.

I think that's fair, but I couldn't subjectively put him above Brady and Manning as well. If you're building a team, thats one way to look at it, but as it stands I'd put him no higher than 5. Remember though, none of the guys above him would have been #5 halfway through their second year...

This.

I'd go:

1. Manning
2. Brees
3. Rodgers
4. Wilson
5. Brady

that's just this year, but Wilson is playing better than Brady this year. Manning is obviously playing better than everyone...he has limited arm strength and is still lighting the league on fire. Also Rodgers is up there, when healthy.

If we went tiers in the NFC I'd have: 1st Tier: Brees, Rodgers, 2nd Tier: Wilson, Ryan. Then everyone else. Maybe Newton is working his way up to 2nd tier.

Stats wise? No.

Stats are only 1 piece of the puzzle though. I think that Rodgers, Brees, Manning, and Brady are above him right now but he is the future. RW won't put up the numbers those guys do but he manages the offense just as well as those guys, let Russell win a ring this year and I think you put him in that elite category.
